I’ve been told that Toyo Tires are the way to go now, and BFG’s wear out too quickly. Is this true? Anyone have experience with either, or both??

    Untrue so far

As those are 2 brands with numerous models and tread compounds to them.

Gotta narrow it down much more than this

Both great tires in terms of all-terrain options, however, the Toyos seem to wear better and last a little longer. I had Toyo Open Country AT2 on my 2005 Tundra and loved them.

I currently have BFG KO2 on my 1985 FJ60 and enjoy the ride those provide as well. I’m running 30x9.5 15s on this LC more or the classic, stock appeal, but they definitely ride nice.

I know these are two totally different applications, but in terms of performance, they are both really good tires for mid-size trucks/SUVs.

How do you use your truck (on/offroad, light trail riding, heavy off-road etc)?

Thanks for the advice, and to answer your question... it’s all for looks lol. City driving, nothing crazy. I just my Tacoma to look off road, without the off-road lol

I have the Falken AT3W's. Cheaper I haven't had them long but they have kicked ass in the snow, mud and on wet payment I have thrown at them.

Agreed. I currently have the AT3s on my 2013 Tacoma - Nice tire overall and gives that aggressive look. Just make sure to turn the white letters, in ;)

I don't have any experience winth Toyos, but I wanted o comment on the BFGs.

I had a second Gen with 200k on it. I had 4 sets of tires on it, stock for about 25k and dumped them. The other three sets were ATs and I was getting 50 55K out of them easy.

I should note they were the E rated tires and as the tire wore down the ride did get rougher but those tires were bomb proof. If I had one complaint I didn't think those tires were a good snow tire at all for the Tacoma. The first gen BFG ATs were nothing short of skates.

I just picked up BFG ATs C rated for my new one 3rd gen. In hoping the C rated will be better on the snow.
