I've scoured the Skinny tires threads and can't find a definitive answer. If I missed it, probably due to lack of sleep...sorry friends...

Anyone know if KO2's in 255/75/R17 mounted on wheels with same backspacing and offset as stock Sport wheels, will rub/contact?

And if I were to depart from the backspacing/offset of the stock TRD Sport wheel, how much in each before I might run into issues?

Might be able to snag a set of 4 at a ridiculous discount...

If you're not sagging up front either from body mounts or suspension weight and age it should clear okay.

They're 1/2 taller but also more narrow than what's typically regarded as the largest tire size you can run without a lift.

You might have slight rubbing on the cab mounts at full lock and bump.

My stock tires on the 2021 Sport are 265/65 R17 - so overall diameter of 30.56" - the 255 would have an overall diameter of 32.06". So about 1.5" difference or 3/4" taller so yeah not much. But enough to possibly rub at full lock...

When you say "bump," you mean when suspension is fully compressed?

As for backspacing/offset, do I have it right that if I want to largely avoid issues with UCA contact, I want to move the tire "outward" from the current position?

Probably not using the terminology correctly here, thanks for bearing the nonsense...

Yea bump is when the suspension is on the bump stop compressed.

Yes you need more offset to move the wheel outward to get it away from the control arm but if you can run a 265 now a taller 265 will also still clear. A 255 wide you'll be fine for sure on stock control arms.

So long as you have 3/4 clearance everywhere now you'll be good.

You might not even need that much with a little forward caster on your alignment and with the KO2's running small.

    Why not run a 265/70/17?

265/70 is an option - but its 255/75's that I can get at a stupid discount. Now the question becomes should I try Cooper S/T Maxx. This would be my 4th set of BFG KO/KO2...maybe time for a change...

is this a local deal? The KO2s in a 255/75/17 I found were crazy expensive so I passed. Haven’t looked in a while though.

I’ve run countless sets of KO2s over the years and found them to wear longer then the one set of Cooper Maax I once tried. So I ended up going back to the BFGs.

This size is typically known to fit. I believe @SpeySquatch runs this size with success.

I run Duratrac 255/75/17's on stock sport rims with no problems at all.

    Hey fellas, ladies,

Sorry to be a di$%head and revive this completely un-original thread, on a topic that's been flogged well past the horse's endurance...

With a completely stock TRD Sport, and +15mm offset wheel in 17x8" - chances are I could cram a 255/75 in no issue right?

I'm now suffering through the process of finding a TRD centercap for a replica wheel, and best option is a 17x8" wheel with +15mm offset.

Go ahead and yell at me for asking this again, I deserve it :D
