Was looking at getting a set of these for my stock Tacoma, both for the cool-factor and to replace the Rugged Trails that came on the vehicle. What do y'all think of these tires? Should I expect any rubbing at all? Thanks for the continued help, here. :)

I like them. Removed stock mud flaps, no rubbing.

Damn, those look badass. Is your suspension stock?

Also, did you have rubbing before you took the flaps off? thank you.

Icon coilovers front, Icon AAL rear, stock upper control arms - but only about 1.5" higher than stock. Took the stock flaps off because I read on here they might rub. Well, they didn't rub on the way home from the tire shop.
Later put rokblokz flaps on, no rub with those.

Good tires, I'd recommend them unless you 4 wheel in lots of thick mud. Here is a thread after I mounted them at stock height. 265/70R17 (same as 265/75/R16). Only made very minor contact on the front flap off the front bumper which I removed. I also run rokblokz, so no rubbing. They are pretty heavy in 265/75R16 though since they only come in E-load. Duratracs are much lighter in C-load for that size.

Good points. The KO2 in 265/75R16 weighs 53.6 pounds. The stock size rugged trails are 38.5 apiece. OP, be sure you read up on what effects this will have before you take the leap.

Can't say about the tire, but I upsized to 265/75/16's about 3 years ago and wish I had sooner. No issues with clearing fenders and no noticeable power loss.

Had them on before my lift...

I didn't have any rubbing driving around town... But I didn't really do any off-roading with them before I installed my lift.

Great tires but my MPGs definitely took a hit compared to the stock tires!

Shoot, I'm on my phone now, but what sort of problems are caused by the 15lb increase per tire compared to stock Rugged trails? MPG only, or are there other things?

You are running one of the heaviest OEM wheels (I actually was going to run those till I saw the weight) with an E-load ultra heavy AT tire. MPG loss is expected. See the link I posted earlier.

Loss of MPGs (as noted above), loss of some acceleration/power, increased braking distance, and harsher ride with E-load sidewalls.

I am on my 2nd set of the KO's not the newer KO2's and they are great. 265/75/R16 fit fine without rubbing unless at full lock weight on the front end. I get about 15mpg in mixed driving including towing a ~1200lb load twice a week.

Thanks for the responses so far, guys. I also imagine these are kinda noisy going down the road, too.

They are noisier than the stock Rugged Trails, yes. If you take the truck off road at all (which would be the only reason to get these) your truck will make plenty of other noises so you won't even notice the tires. The creaky door seal noise is my personal favorite. :D

Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
I also agree on recommending them as well.

The BFGOODRICH ALL-TERRAIN T/A are exceptional tires IMO. That's what I have on my 08 Tacoma, had them on now going on four or fives years now. I am sure that there are other (probably better) tires out there that give the Tacoma a better appearance, better quality?, etc. but one can't go wrong with the BFGOODRICH ALL-TERRAIN T/A's.

If your into mud running, side-hill climbing/driving, etc., stuff like that then I would suggest you find tires for that specific purpose.

Mine are a bit different in size (265 / 70 R17's) because I changed the rims but still basicallly the same. Here are a few pictures.

    Good Luck on your choice!

I knew that I was going to lose some MPGs bumping up to an E rated 265/75. No surprise for me... I just wanted to make sure the OP knew what he was in for.

And interesting to hear about the TT wheels being the some of the heaviest OEM wheels... I put them on the scale right when I got them but can't remember what they weighed. I don't remember them being much heavier than the 17" Sport wheels they replaced though.

    If I recall correctly:
    TRD ORs 23lbs
    TRD sports 26lbs
    TTs 28lbs

Small bump from the sport, big bump from the OR.

Yea, I knew when I bought the rims and tires, I was definitely going to loose MPG but still didn't care.
All that concerned me was how my truck looked and I was pleased with the outcome.
As for gas money, well no matter what the price is today it's going to keep going up (in time).
Do the things to your Tacoma that you enjoy having done. Things that please you not anyone else. Life's too damn short to concern yourself with what others think about how your Tacoma looks. Enjoy it now because we don't know what tomorrow will bring?
So if you really like those special rims and tires for your Tacoma-go for it!
