BEWARE Servco toyota Honolulu

Long story but here goes. I ordered a 16 TRD OR 4x4 DCSB MT6 in April and received my truck first week of August no big deal about waiting but driving through the lot I noticed my truck sitting on the lot and when i notified my sales person he did not have a clue that it was there. I thought to myself WTF!Happy ending because I got my truck. Now the Horror story! My son decided to order the same type of truck as mine and placed his order in August with the delivery date in October. Asked the sales person the same as before to let me know when he receives my sons VIN so we can expect it shortly after. On Sep 26 as i drove through the lot, I noticed the exact vehicle we ordered but since the sales person did not give me a VIN yet I took it as being someone else's, however I did take a picture of the VIN on the front windshield. When I called yesterday about the status of my son's order I was told by the sales person that it was on the lot. Woke up this morning to a text from sales person that he had bad news. The bad news is that it got SOLD!!! WTF! not by them but by another dealership because Servco Toyota Honolulu did not secure the order that had my son's name on it so another dealership took it from them right off their lot WTF!!! The VIN# I took a picture of, was my sons truck that i saw on the 26 of SEP but the sales person or manager did no do their jobs because it seems they are not competant enough to track an order and notify the buyer when their vehicle arrives .Talked to the manager (Earl) and his response was "there's nothing he can do and that it happens and he doesn't know what happened and that if I ordered another one he could not guaranty it would not happen again but probably not". No Sorry for what happened no compensation for their mistake just an attitude of your just one person and you don't matter. If that's the kind of leadership that's there, save your self the heart ache and go Windward or Waipahu. oh and by the way what really sucks and pisses me off is that the next allotment is in December with delivery in late Jan or Feb. Bunch of BS when no one takes responsibility for this at SERVCO TOYOTA HONOLULU

 

Doesn't surprise me in the least. I'm less then impressed with Toyota when it concerns their dealers and the competence of the management and employees. Did you actually put money down on the vehicle?

I had my FJC come in close to the end of sales to the US and they listed it on their web site as inventory and the ''salesman'' [in italics as he was anything but a salesman, he was just a lazy POS that no one had the balls to terminate] never bothered to call. For that matter, he never bothered to call once while I was waiting with any updates.

Since it was likely sold for more $$$$ then the purchase agreement your son had with them, the dealer doesn't give a damn and I'd bet a paycheck that is what would have happened with my FJ also.

No one came on their lot and took it to another dealer, they did a deal with that other dealer and got something else in trade or got a skim off the deal, they are just playing stupid because they know most people won't lodge complaints with Toyota. [and FWIW, dealers can catch hell from Toyota if they get complaints about the poor job they do, I got a call from the one I bought my FJC from asking me if I could do another survey or change some answers because I wasn't nice at all and they must have had contact from Toyota. And no, I didn't change a thing, they deserved every black mark and gig I gave them.]

 

When I bought mine I did but for some reason they waived the deposit on my son's which took me by surprise but was assured that everything was good. We know better now.

 

I would order another, work the deal and if its not better, go else where but not tell them. Shit maybe order something that you really don't want but will be hard for them to move.

 

Sorry OP for your bad experience with Servco Honolulu. I had a great experience with them when I ordered my 15 Pro, specially a salesman that was willing to work with me on what I wanted.

For those who are wondering, there's only 3 Toyota dealerships on Oahu, all own by one company, Servco. Last I heard they ain't even part of Toyota USA. So they pretty much have a grip on anything Toyota.

Hmm now you got me wondering who your salesman is??

Yeah Tks. I will go to another site (Waipahu) and never go back to the Honolulu one. From what I'm gathering, the manager screwed most of this up. Either way, this manager tried to give me all the excuses under the sun except the one that he should have gave, Human Error and own it.

 

have you checked if one like you want might be on maui or the big island? if so make them send it over at their cost..

 

I like your thinking but I will not step foot back in there again. When you have a manager who says "we sell 200 vehicles a week and it happens from time to time and I can't tell you what happened, I just don't know what happened and even if I knew you wouldn't understand my job, If you order again I can't guarantee it won't happen again but probably not" The reason it got SOLD is because they didn't know it was there and their process for tracking backorders SUCK!

 

Yeah I checked (none)they could care less. Trust me when I say this and I'm sure it's not hard to believe, but they don't give a shit about the low percent that gets Screwed. Their fine with that. That was the attitude I got from Earl the manager. Not once was he apologetic but rather an A hole about it. "Put in another order for the December allotment and wait till next year for it". My son's dream buy turned into a nightmare but he's accepted the fact that they can't shit out another truck so the wait continues but not with them.

 

this exact thing happened to my mom when she was trying to get a new lexus RX. they sold it out from under her as she was driving down to the lot...

this was at the kaneohe one though.

Who is buying these Tacos in HI...? If I'm correct... everyone in HI owns a Taco already..!! R U guys just "upgrading"...?? A friend of mine said he saw 10 vehicles pass him the other day in Owahu (sp).. he said that 6 of them were Tacos... Geese...!!

 

i went from a 2008 to my 2016......Tacos everywhere here on maui.

I believe Kauai sells the most Tacomas per capita nationwide. If you've been here, you'll know what I mean.

 

Tacomas are the state vehicle of Hawaii, literally, and Servco is the only Toyota dealership on Oahu. You can bash on Servco about buying a Taco, but at the end of the day, you have to go through them. Also, you should have put down a deposit.

 

Just a heads up, all the Big Island Toyota dealshits are part of the Servco brand. So they don't like to deal with island that have a Servco on them. They are very sneeky. So odds of them working with you on Oahu are pretty low. Sorry about your experience

 

Tks for all the reply's and yes Tacoma's rule these Islands. Been a Nissan truck driver for decades but they are way behind so I had to leave them behind. Always had the Camry for the wife but I finally went Toyota myself and I love mine, just wish they didn't screw my son over the way they did. On a Spiritual note to keep our sanity, that Tacoma was not meant to be for him, maybe not having that specific truck is a blessing because it could have been a lemon with all kinds of issues, maybe not but you gotta beleive things happen for a reason.
