I recently replaced my rusty exhaust with a bosal system. I didn't want to spend a lot of money, so i went with the Bosal because it was the cheapest(115 shipped). The fitment was fine and the only problem I had was that the Bosal gasket was way too small and I had to go get one from Toyota. Now, the reason why I hate it. It makes a terrible humming noise any time you accelerate and it's alot louder than stock. It's terrible when your driving on the highway, it's a constant droning hum. It's comparable to when someone runs their finger on the edge of a wine glass. Do yourself a favor and invest in a better quality exhaust.

it takes time to break in. After a couple hundred miles, it should be better.

I have 600 miles on the new exhaust and no change. I hope your right and it will break in. I have read about others having the same problem with the bosal exhaust.

Break-in periods are very common for an exhaust system. The tone of a system can completely change from 0 miles to 1500 miles.

OEM cost a lot more than the Bosal.

Yea, that definitely applies. If I had the money, I would of bought OEM or at least a better quality brand. Although, I did replace my Versa's muffler with bosal and have no problems, just as quiet as stock. It must just be specific to the Tacoma.

I really didn't want to put a used exhaust on. I wanted a brand new one, so I could coat it and maximize longevity. Also, even if I wanted to buy used, I was really pressed for time. Two of the hangers were completely broken and I didn't want to risk it falling off while driving.
