How’s everyone liking these? I’m tempted to pull the trigger but there aren’t a ton of reviews on the new version. I like the way the bestop sits on the bed rails vs the softtopper version which has spots that can rub on the paint.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Go for it and good luck!

Hopefully it fits better than V1 on 3rd gen. I went with a fully optioned ARE fiberglass cap after trying a hard cover then a bestop v1. Much happier having some level of security when needed.

I’ve seen where it runs in the front by the cab and wears through as well. I just don’t know why they wouldn’t have it where there is no chance of rubbing off the paint.

See this won’t be on the truck all the time. Mainly for when we do long trips out west for multiple weeks. Having the extra storage is nice. The hard caps are good options but for my use case just doesn’t make sense since I’d have to store it all the time

My softopper doesn't touch the cab. Sounds like an operator error to me.

By the cab not on the cab. Front of bed. I don’t like that the softtopper touches the paint at all. To me just seems like a weird design choice. Will be interesting to see which design gets kept since bestop bought softtopper

Oh that makes sense then. I have no need or desire to take my cap off so I don’t need that feature. Might still rub paint in spots though. There is still likely a flap that covers the front bed rail gaps. I had my bestop on for probably 3-4 weeks before returning it to Amazon. No paint damage. I would recommend if the front clamp design is the same (I think it is) to get a piece of aluminum flat stock and clamp it down up there. That will help keep it weathertight at interstate speeds. My v1 was dry as a bone inside though, so in terms of weatherproof, it worked well.

I think I’m going to pull the trigger and see how it goes. Hopefully I don’t regret the decision lol

Buy it from Amazon so you can return up to a month later for free if it doesn’t work out for you.

Not a bad idea except for whatever reason it’s more expensive on Amazon...
