Just wondering if any of you have preferences/opinions on which of the year models you think are better/best for some reason/s? For instance I heard after 2011 Tacomas may have had more restrictive emissions etc, These reasons can be performance related or even just personal preferences, like appearance and comfort etc.

I've got to upgrade eventually, so I pop in from time to time. Can't be starting thread #3,546 on the transmission/shifting differences.

2011 is the best year in my opinion.
Fewer emissions crap. Best looking grille. Updated LED tail lights.

That's where things are subjective. I think the front end of my '13 and '15 looked better than my '09. Plus, the undated steering wheel, head unit and blue/white gauges look much better than the '09.

As for the emissions? '12 models were the only ones plagued with that issue. It was resolved for the '13 and up.

And finally the LED tails? :puke:

I brought a 10mm socket with me and before I even drove off the dealership lot I swapped out those hideous Ebay looking lights for the incandescent tails from my '13.
