My steering wheel is off center. About 10 degrees off to the left. Meaning, while driving on a perfectly straight and level road with my steering wheel "straight" the car veers to the right.

I've taken it to shops around me and they all say the wheel alignment is within "spec" and is good to go! Part of a competent alignment job is to get the steering wheel straight as well. They show me the specs paper all in green, I don't give a shit about the numbers/greens. It doesn't feel right when driving obviously something is not 100% correct.

I need a competent mechanic/alignment shop that knows what the hell they are talking about. All you need to do is tighten+loosen the tie rods same amount on each side to get the steering wheel straight. Anyone have experience with shops near DFW that can simply straighten the steering wheel (tie rod adjustments) and then double check the alignment afterwards?

Tandem in Hurst is a good place. They’re a Toyota only shop.

Tandem are the only guys who touch my truck after Fifth Gear fucked it up and a number of shops failed to fix it and made endless excuses. But you'll need to get in line.

^ umm, who's the expert telling the expert how to stuff? lol.

edit: i was referring to the OP acting the expert here thinking he knows it's right, in spec, and what to do. not referring to ROAD DOG. sorry for the confusion.

are you taking to me or the OP?

i was agreeing with you that there may be more to the story and, if there's a problem, don't assume it's always simple like a tie rod adjustment. maybe so, but if several shops are failing to assist, maybe not. my example is exactly about that. there was more to the story. and it was hard to figure out, except for one guy who went right to it. in the link above.

are we on the same page here? :notsure:

sorry I'm just confused by your posts. a tie rod adjustment to straighten the steering wheel on a in-spec alignment is basic junior level work. but he's not getting it fixed? maybe he should look deeper or consult better experts? I'm not sure what's going on here now, philosophy? guess I've said what i wanted to say.

IF a proper front end alignment was done

the tie rods would have been adjusted properly...............

that in itself DOES NOT MEAN the steering wheel will be staright

    annoying as hell

the thing i hang my hat on is it ‘ VEERS ‘

which lets me know a Proper Alignment was NOT done NO MATTER

what was done with the tie rod ends............... or the steering wheel is straight

U can have a good alignment & sterring wheel NOT straight

    U CAN NOT HAVE a Proper alignment & the ehicle “ VEERS “ !!!!!!!!!!!

Tandem is the most solid referral I can give you and I've had the good bad & ugly all over DFW.

Jesus christ what a dumpster fire this turned out to be...

First of all, my vehicle is perfect. NO LIFT, Perfect new rims, tires balanced, the driveline was serviced by Toyota recently, NO accidents, no bumps hit. I know my vehicle, all I asked for was a competent shop, and THANKS TO THOSE WHO ACTUALLY SUGGESTED A SHOP.

SIMPLY, my truck had an alignment after new wheels/tires fitted. The alignment job was done without assuring the steering wheel was straight.
Think I don't know what I'm talking about? Look up hundreds of threads/youtube videos of people having the same issue. "crooked steering wheel after alignment"
And guess what all those mechanics/people respond with "IT'S A TIE ROD ADJUSTMENT".

YES steering wheel should be straight with a proper alignment.
BUT ALSO a lot of shops neglect aligning the steering wheel with an alignment because they just go by what their machine says on the wheels, not the steering wheel.
YES a lot of people have had this same problem, and some have taken it 4-5+ times back to have it realigned only to have the same crooked steering wheel and they resort
to making videos like this to show normies how to fix it themselves because their incompetent mechanics think their crooked ass steering wheel is "good enough" and won't do a damn thing about it...

It is still possible to have a perfect alignment and a wheel off-center. When I said it "veers" to the right, I SIMPLY meant, the steering wheel is crooked to the left when going straight, so obviously straightening the wheel makes the vehicle go a little the right.

Here is a FEW threads I found with people having the same problem as me...for those you thinking I'm talking bullshit (su.brat, you don't need to be an expert or a rocket scientist to understand how an alignment works, and to also know my fucking steering wheel is not fucking centered...)
