    Hey All,
I am thinking I want to get more in the Christmas Spirit. I want to do the bed lights, but have a Tonneau that is flat and smooth over the top that doesn't leave a good spot to secure the lights. Any tips??

I have a roll up, and right now I am thinking I might be able to thread the wire between where the tonneau secures and then roll it and secure it. Otherwise lots of zip ties or leave the tonneau open until the new year...which might not be a bad option since it freezes shut on me and I need it open a lot in the winter anyways.

Any pics or ideas are welcome!

Merry Christmas! And Happy Hanukkah too!

    Pics?

On my old ones I used PVC pipe and zip ties

Can you wrap the lights around some latice and then secure the latice above the cover? Or is that just a pain in the ass ? Figured you could lift the latice to have access to the cover

I can grab a picture, but it's basically just a flat top on the bed, there isn't anything sticking up really to secure to from the top. If I leave it rolled up, there are tons of options and it would be super easy. Trying to think of alternatives. Did you throw the pipe on top of your bed?

That might work, but then how am I securing the lattice?

Can you run a strap around both the latice and cover? Not the ratchet kind, but the kayak carrier kind

I do have some Thule straps! I ordered the lights and some zip ties from Target and will pick them up on the way to town this morning. I'll play around a little with it this afternoon and post some pics of my results. I think my best bet might be to run the light wire back and forth under there the tonneau locks in. That would keep it in place, and the thing isn't 100% waterproof anyways so I don't mind if it messes the seal a little.

Or I just roll the thing up for the winter and clean out some of the stuff in my bed...

Maybe something like this but with a roll top it would be a little different.

Good idea. Might pick up a roll of that while I'm at target as a backup.

Did some zip ties by the window, then tucked it in the tail and hooked it to the tonneau snaps. In the pics it doesn't show it but after I took these photos, IMG_1910.jpg I ran the driver side under the tonneau and back out for a little extra tightness/support. Excited to try it out on the road this week.IMG_1907.jpg

Super glue should hold them in place.
