Upright against the cab, no straps. Just have children holding it up.

Hahahahah great stuff guys! That fridge in the trunk pic is classic!

I'm thinking upright, back against the cab, ratchet straps through rear door openings (not the windows!). I don't think the OEM roof rack is strong enough to help but I might throw an additional rope up there for good measure.

    Sound ok or bad idea?

Rent a small trailer or have it delivered by a professional. I hauled a big 3 door fridge last year in my DCSB and i just strapped it down with 3 straps and taped the doors shut. The biggest issue was unloading it by myself.... I just bought a Gun safe and paid $300 extra to have it delivered in my house, totally worth it.

Bad idea with ratchet straps through the doors. First it’s just stupid, second the strap will be higher than the bed and there for pull the fridge over the bed into the cab. You need one strap to hold it against the front of the bed, and one over the top. There are enough tiedown points in the bed to do this. Use the bed rail system and oem clamps for the straps to hold it against the bed, use the floor tiedown points for over the top of the fridge.

In the center of the bed . Using the bed locations not the rail cleats . Leave it standing up. Use 4 ratchet straps . Go up and over as to grab all 4 corners . Test the hell out of it(pull/push) and go slow.

Honestly that does sound pretty professional. Realizing they fucked up and paying for a replacement immediately. Can't keep an eye on all your workers at every moment and not everyone has the same levels of sense. Shit happens. They replaced without hassle.

Thanks @Frankenstuff for the advice! @mutely no, not my first truck but first time moving a 26cu ft refrigerator without a Uhaul. Didn't want to dump it all over the road, that's bad manners.

It wasn't pretty but worked like a charm! Made it there, not a scratch on the fridge or on the truck! Thanks guys.

Definitely good for a few laughs and it sure is a change of pace from the usual "my lift isn't working" or "this truck sucks' threads. :D

that's because when you lay them flat, the refrigerant and oil move and separate.....its ok to do this but you have to stand the refridgerator upright for several hours before you plug it in.....the usual time is 1 hr for every 15 minutes on side........worked for me and my 30cuft.......drove 66 miles, 1.5hrs......stood it up over night (12+) and its started just fine....had ice within 5 hrs

Nice! I still think my method would’ve been the prettiest looking. Given that I supplied custom hand-made schematics. /s

I move refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers etc all the time (I'm in appliance sales) I have moved several at once and one at a time. Long distances on the freeway and 2 blocks away. I have never had a problem. 2017 DCLB OR. Straps are your best friend. I use the tie downs on the rails as well as the front bed hooks and rear swiveling hooks on the floor.
Too many straps is always the best way to go!

Insecure refrigerators are not worth the effort... always asking "does this milk make me look fat?"
