I bought my 2006 Tacoma a few months ago and the seats have a lot of stains on them. Some look like grease or oil perhaps. Anyone have any ideas on how to really get these clean? If not, I'm looking for some really good seat covers that aren't waterproof, leather or really slick and hot. Just high quality ones that will cover and I can put some sort of waterproof cover over that if I need to after sports or whatever. thx.

I've got Carhartt seat covers on mine, they're water resistant and look pretty decent. They're pricey though.

Grease and oil stains don't really ever come out. Maybe try steam cleaning them or have a professional take a look.

even on jeans that went through the drier

My mom has done miracles with it on my clothes and it does get the stains out of the rear seat too, LOL

Dawn dish soap and hot water ina spray bottle. Scrub brush or one of those scrub brushes that are on a disc that mounts to a drill. Spray down let it sit 5-10 minutes. Scrub crap out of it with brush. Go back over with clean microfiber to get any other areas and help with getting the drying a kickstart. Leave doors or windows open on a good hot day for a few hours.

A good vacuumming before you start and after microfibering also helps.

Replacing everything worn, broken, and rusted.
There's a great detail thread around here..."ask a detailer". But short answer is Dawn and hard scrubbing, soaking. Then a nice upholstery cleaner. Dry in hot sun. Had the same issue and worked for me. Also works on nasty seat belts.

If you think about it the seats are plastic (other than leather) - actually the same for carpet - a heavy duty plastic cleaner might be worth considering. I use nextzett 92441015 Plastic Deep Cleaner

Since I get it free at work, I use Formula 409 on a rag. Scrub until stain is gone, let dry, and viola!

Go to a professional detailer and see if they can steam clean them.

I would get them steam cleaned to sanitize, then coat with Scotch Guard and get quality seat covers.

I highly recommend Clazzio... but you don’t want leather for what ever reason...
