Sup. I'm just wondering what the best way to carry two Yaks is. I know there are a bunch of variables but I would love some suggestions and maybe a pic or two. Thanks.

While looking at Bed Racks on Amazon like the ones that hold a tent I saw quite a few examples of using them to hold 2 kayaks, some were vendor pics and other were review pics. There's quite a selection from very basic to full on Gucci racks. The basic ones look like they'd work well for that purpose.

What type of kayaks? I go out with 2 fishing kayaks almost every weekend during the spring/summer. I put the larger one in the bed with the tailgate down, then I have a PVC rack that sits over it I put the lighter one on top. Works well and we do some pretty rough roads with no problems as well as some longer highway runs.

6' bed for me. Kayaks sitting in bed with the tops tilted toward the center. I use fitted pieces of cardboard at all the contact points so that they don't rub into each other or the truck. Use bungie cords to secure them. I only need to carry them for rather short trips but I think this would work from longer rides.

I'll tell you what Freak. Your right on that I should have done as you suggest and should have gone to Amazon and then the Tube for how to install. The problem with Amazon is that you don't always get what you had hoped for. I've also found that price doesn't always correlated with quality. In any event I definitely should have started with Amazon.

The Yaks are 10 ft and have a pretty wide beam. I just stuffed them into the back of my 2009 that had the 5ft bed and threw the rest of my gear in the back seat. I have a 6ft bed now but it would be great to have the Yaks up top and the tote boxes in the bed. Going to Maine for a moose hunt as a spotter and an excuse to party. Freeing up the bed to put my "stuff" would be pissa.

I like that Voodoo. I'll check it out. I'm sure other than a bed rack there's not going to be many other options.

This bed rack is made by Thule and and is compatible with their accessories.

I'm currently deciding between that rack or the Thule Wing Bar EVO on the cab for hauling two 10' kayaks using two sets of the Thule Hullavator kayak mounts. I need something that limits the rear overhang so I can bring the kayaks along when towing the travel trailer.

Unless your worried about locking them, I can fit 2 in my 5ft box hanging upwards with tailgate closed.

Same with my bicycle, it fits in the box witouth some silly adapter, bracket or bike rack on my trailer hitch.

I used to use the OEM roof rack with some kayak racks bolted on.

The main thing to me is to have the bow and stern of the kayaks well secured and tied down to the truck. Do not rely on the rack alone to hold down the kayaks.

I place them in my 6’bed like described but I use racket straps around the pull handle on the kayaks.

This is how we roll around northern maine. One kayak on j bars then the grey kayak is shaped more like a 10ft canoe so that just sits upside down on the roofrack with pool noodles.

On non camping trips they just get shoved in the bed with a ratchet strap or two.

Sup guys. I have always used the bed but I would really like them to.be higher so i can utilize bed for gear.. I do like Voodoo's set up and id be curious if thay made the truck wider only because the logging roads were tight last year and i can't imagine how tight they're.going to be this season.
    Rock On Guys.

It's a little dirty, but there are 2 kayaks up on my yakima overhaul hd. It can be a little bit of a pain, putting them up there after the lift.
