    Hey Guys.
I’ve been digging up a lot of info on bed toppers.
My end goal is to install a mat back there so my dog can have the whole bed to himself when we are traveling.

I’d like to have a topper with side windows, LED interior and a fold down front window.
The back window can be just the locking latch type, not too worried about that.
And color matched to my quicksand.

Now, waiting on the quotes for the retailers takes forever and the quotes are often times written by someone that isn’t good at explaining things.

Which company should I go with out of LEER, ARE, and Snugtop?
    And why.

    Thanks guys

Snug top my pick. This is my 4th Snug Top.

Yeah, Snug is what I’ve primarily been looking at.
    Thanks!!

    Definitely did do a search.
My question was a little more specific.
Not trying to get in an argument, but you definitely don’t have to respond to everyone’s posts if it’s been repeated.

I've seen the most complaining over Leer on here. usually scratches trucks paint or the top's paint cracks on the corners. if you live in a populated area with lots of retailers, that's cool. if not, you'll need to see who sells what brand. some smaller shops will sell smaller brand toppers that offer everything you've asked for. calling shops that will be doing the installing will get you a quote immediately since they are putting in the order to the manufacturer.

Just ordered an ARE CX series for my quicksand. In my opinion the ARE look better than the Snugtops, but that's my opinion. I added tilt down front slider, pet screens, 12v led dome light, and roof tracks. Out the door for $2105.00

Yeah, in my findings, Snugtop seems to be the best value option that don’t look as good as ARE or LEER.
I saw a quicksand taco the other day with a Snugtop and the color matching was off, which was an instant red flag for me.
2100 isn’t bad for everything that I’m looking for.

Forgot to mention ARE has a coupon for free carpet headlinder in CX series for March. So I got that too.

I've owned two Snugtop Rebel's and have been very happy with them both. No matter what brand you choose, research the topic of sealing the bed-rails before the topper is installed. Since you plan to put bedding/lining in for the dog, you'll want to minimize water intrusion. The toppers themselves almost never leak, but the bed-rails always leak, unless you make an effort to seal them before the topper is installed. There are several good threads on TW covering this topic.

Have a ARE topper. wouldnt recommend it. Had to have my side slider window replaced 3 TIMES because they kept replacing it with chipped glass. Back door was replaced twice because it didnt allow topper to sit flush and rubbed the paint off the top of my tailgate(Still doesnt sit flush looks like shit). Locking latch broke after 3 months. And color match is off. Would recommend Leer my buddy had good luck with his.

Side note, get a horse stall mat and cut out the wheel wells. Cleans up really easy and makes it have more grip and is softer for the dogs. Only reason we have our topper is for them.

Same here. I need a topper; in California water has mysteriously started falling from the sky. Not sure what's going on.
I want a walk-through door style and I think I'm leaning toward the SnugTop.
    Anyone have either of these?

I've owned both the A.R.E. DCU on my current and the Snugtop XTR Gen II on my last truck. Both fantastic quality.

I have a Snug Top for sale. Unfortunately, I can't post it on the B&S because I don't have 50 posts, even though I've posted and sold stuff there in the past. It has electric door lock and a folding front window. It is also carpeted. The Thule rack could be part of the sale.

Great advice, this is my only issue so far.

I think differences in brands will come down to personal preference on options/looks. I liked the CX style more, but was disappointed I could not get the sliding windoors on my short bed truck. Leer offers the sliding windoors on the short bed, which you might want to consider depending on your location and how often your dog will be back there.

This thread helped me decide on which look, and has some good info (you can "google image" search the thread title + "tacomaworld", to get just the pictures).
