So I have a 2010 Toyota Tacoma and I'm about to lift it 3in. I'm new to this, so I was looking at getting 18x9 rims. What is the best size tire to buy to fit that size rim?

    Welcome to tacomaworld.

At the bottom of the page is a tire size calculator to compare sizes, and i think 285 75 16 is what most guys run on that size lift. So I would play around and check sizes against that. Also look up build pages for guys with 18s. I generaly google "tacomaworld" then what ever Im looking for. I find it faster than the search function.

If I put 285/65/18 on a 3in lift. Would my tires rub?

Depends on wheels and tires. Search for backspacing guidelines. You might need to trim a bit.

Anything above 265 will rub some. I removed flaps and trimmed some inner fender. I should do a CMC, but I only hit the frame at full lock and a compression. I'm not a huge off-roader. I stick to the trail. 285's are the recommendation of Icon and I have an Icon lift. I just followed along. Besides, 285's look badass.

Ok so the rims I'm getting are 9in in width and my stock rims are 7.5in and the tires that are on the stock rims are 265/70/17 would those tires still work on the new rims?
