For looks I had my heart set on some ATs, but to be honest my most important criteria are good wet traction for rain and snow. I’ve hydroplanes more times that I’d like on my two Tacoma’s in 2wd (yes I will put weight in the back). With two kids who may by riding in back at times I’m not really willing to sacrifice safety for mean looking tread. (90% of driving will be on paved roads or dirt roads... v little true off road).

Researching best wet traction for mid price seeing a lot of good stuff about the Vredestein Quatrac 5 but found little to no reviews of it from truck owners.

Basically I’m looking for the safest wet / light snow tire, and it’s a bonus if it looks cool. Saw a ton about tires here but most seems mostly about AT tires.

    thanks in advance.

Goodyear duratracs have been a favorite of mine. They have awesome snow and wet traction. Ran them for 6 sets of tires before switching due to a change in tire size that they didn’t offer.

I have a buddy that swears by Michelin MS2’s for very light off road duty but great on road wet and snow performance.

My wife’s 4Runner we tried the Hercules AT2 and we have been very happy with their performance the last 2 winters. Made by Cooper, good in the wet and snow and great price point.

My falken at3s have been awesome in the rain and normal wet condition But to be honest, my area limited the speed to 45-55 no matter what, so high speed and after a year or two I don't know

in that size you definitely want to stick with C or SL tires. i ran 30" E's for 3 years and although i love them you don't want them for rain performance in your case.

To be honest, I haven’t seen many people put a premium on wet weather specific tires. Snow tires or off road, or AT certainly. So maybe whatever your own research finds will suit you best. I found my cooper at/3 4s to be great in rain and snow, but again, that’s for an AT tire. Good luck in your search. Keeping yourself and your kids safe is more important than looking cool, but maybe you can do both

Michelin LTX is going to be pretty high on your list.. look for highway treads with water voids.

AT are going to have less contact because of their more aggressive tread.

That said the OEM Toyo A20 on our 2017 hydroplaned like crazy- replaces them with Toyo RT and it stopped happening.
