Suggestions for shock, strut, control arms ect. Budget is around a grand.city driving, but its new orleans so it's a bit of off road as well.

Replacing parts. I like height. Maybe just leveling kit. Still deciding on what's best.

If it’s currently stock and just want a simple upgrade. Put Bilstein 5100s on and JBA ucas(factory replacement model). It will be close to a grand maybe a bit over on the parts.

Consider Mevotech Supreme UCAs at about $450 from RockAuto if you want a savings over the SPC adjustables.

Awesome. Thank you. Is this something that I can easily do myself?

If you're handy with a wrench and can follow the writeups on here you can probably get the 5100s, an AAL kit for the rear and the UCAs in yourself, then take it to a shop for an alignment. Probably budget $100-$120 for an alignment when you're all finished.

Just go with a 3rd Gen tacoma off road suspension. You will get about an inch of lift plus an improved ride. You can easily find them on offer up or Craigslist from 150-300.

If you want taller and still on budget I would consider the OME 885x with either the 5100 or OME 90021 for a softer/smother ride. Plus an AAL I would recommend the Deaver.

+1. Since you said 'replacing parts'. This is the cheapest, easiest route. You don't need UCAs for a small lift. 3rd Gen takeoffs will raise your front 1" versus 2nd gen factory setup. Lot's of nearly new parts come off Tacoma suspensions.

If you want to go aftermarket then Bilstein 4600's for sitting the same as factory in the front. Bilstein 5100s if you want to lift/level the front.

Based on what you said, I'd spend $200 or $300 on 3rd gen take-off parts and keep the other $$$. Your call.

Anyone know if a 4th gen suspension will fit a 2nd gen easily? Found a full suspension from a 2023 for a steal. Just wondering if it is going to be plug and play like the 3rd gen.

It’s for a third gen, not a 4th Gen, they haven’t been release yet.
