Anyone know which ones are the best?
Last ones I used on a car were red Goodridge ones and they worked fine.

Not sure if it's best to prepare for potential future lifts down the road (3" or higher) to start with extended lines and get it done in one shot/the first time around

am currently at 2" and looking to replace the stock lines because:
    1. they're soft rubber
    2. it's probably not good to have a 10 yr old 100k mile brake line

    there is a certain level of higher trust with reputable brands like StopTech;
I see the kit they have for 2nd gen is around $110 front and rear, but might be stock length
Looks like other options might be
    -Goodridge
    -All-Pro
    -TrailGear (not sure length)
    -Pro-Comp (not sure length)
-KLM Performance (has many length options incuding 2"; not sure the point of that)
-Toytec comes to $137 = stock front, +2" extended rear; am eyeing this because I trust them as a company

I guess if stock length works on 2" lift it might be OK to buy stock length stainless, run for now, then sell later on to anyone else at similar right height if lifting higher

am honestly tempted to go with Toytec just because that route seems simple, the right price, easy, and reputable/trustworthy
rather than click on the first google search result taking a risk with a random unknown company no one has ever heard of named something like "Tall Mountain Bob's Performance" for the same price because they paid for an ad spot

I have the goodridge on my 4R and have had no issues, it’s been a year and a half and I check them every couple weeks for leaks because I’m paranoid lol

if they leaked wouldn't there be easier ways to know
-possibly a brake malfunctioning warning light
-very soft pedal feel that fails to brake
    -fluid on floor

You can buy any length or fitting style from G & J Aircraft in Ontario, CA if you need custom lines. These are good for eliminating the hard line on the spindle and skips the hard line / soft hose connection at the frame and goes to the junction block on the frame. They were $65 shipped

I recently ordered , but have yet to install. They look like good quality, and I've used them on my 1st gen with fine results. :notsure:

    OME and worth every penny.
a longer one on the back isn't bad, I'd be concerned having too much excess up front. Be careful of tire rub at all positions if you extend them.

Yeah, like I said, paranoid. First time messing with anything brake related other than rotor/pad swaps.

A lot of companies use Crown out of CA for their lines. They are really good. They have premade sets that are ready or you can order them by the line at whatever length you want and they have a bunch of colors to choose from as well. I run them on mine and they hold up really well and are good quality, 4 yrs now.

Just get the longer ones and be done. Why pay for install and bleed twice?

For anyone interested we can offer Crown Performance brake lines in custom lengths and colors. Our Raptor and RAM customers love them. We use them on our shop builds too. Very high quality!

Crown Performance brake line kits feature five (5) layer stainless steel brake hoses, that are Kevlar reinforced and contain a Teflon inner core hose to minimize internal friction and volumetric expansion. They also feature unique one (1) piece construction steel fittings that are extremely durable and reliable. These DOT approved brake hoses are compatible with all brake fluids and are available in nine (9) colors. Kit comes with all hardware shown, and is an OEM replacement.

These are built to order and typically take 5-7 days to ship out. Contact us for pricing

As long as they're DOT approved, buy whichever flavor you feel most comfortable with.

I just had a shop put stainless steel brake lines from wheeler's and do a brake flush. My truck juts hit 130k miles, so I can definitely tell the difference between 11year old rubber lines and the new stainless ones.

I used goodridge lines on my Supra, no problems, definitely a better firm pedal feel.

Looking at the crown ones, they’re nice, excessively protected with 5 layers from abrasion. The goodridge ones only had the braided stainless cover for abrasion resistance.

I have Stoptech lines that was part of the Axle Pack brake kit and they are a bit shorter than the stock lines. The Stoptech lines are pulled taught with the suspension at full drop and the steering wheel cranked to the extreme. This doesn't happen with stock rubber lines.

I bought extended lines from Head Strong Offroad that are made by Crown but still need to install them.

I was going to Wheeler lines but heard of a lot of failures with them.

@Dalandser, what are the specs on these lines? Any benefit to deleting the hard line?

Personally, I'd leave the hard line in place.

It just saves time when servicing brakes and helps to clear up room when you install upper control arm gussets. If you buy 3 and keep one and a spare it will actually be just as fail friendly as having a spare stock style hose or having to run to autozone if you’re out in bfe and bust a hose.
