Best snorkel to get?

Looking to do one so wanting to know your likes out there!!!

 

ARB is arguably the "best" it's also definitively the most expensive.

People have had good luck with the Ebay/off brand ones you just throw the template away and measure twice, twice, and the drill ONCE.

I've seen some acceptable looking home made ones as well, PVC pipe etc.

Ultimately though the ARB is the lightest strongest most UV stable best fitting most engineered and tested snorkle. That's how they justify charging $600 for a plastic tube and an elbow.

 

Love my arb snorkel. Worked fine with hurricane Harvey flooding that hit Houston.

 

Does the ARB connect to your a pillar? I have been eyeing a snorkel, but shying away because I don't want to drill into the pillar.. curious if others have used double sided automotive tape or something similar to avoid this..

 

I drilled into the a pillar. It was easy. Marked it with a black magic marker and drilled away. Put some rtv around the little insert rivets for the screws and everything was fine.

 

I'm actually going to be getting an ARB Safari snorkel here soon through my vendor. usually they have the lowest prices and maybe i can get it lower if a few of us order. pm me and i can check!

 

Are you running stock intake?

Oooooo I like your build thread! I need to put some serious time into mine lol. I just put a Volant intake on my rig, but it looks like it would be doable with a snorkel as well from your pics

 

How about one of the stronger 3m double sided tapes? On expedition portal there are people using that stuff to attach panels to the sides of their campers.

 

Ill have to check that out, it seems like I remember reading about others using this as an alternative to the drilling! Thanks for the heads up!

 

I didnt want to drill my A pillar so I stuck it on with the heavy duty outdoor 3m tape. Works great!

I've had 3M tape on my Airflow bracket to the A-Pillar for several years and it's holding up fine. And that's with an Enginaire Pre-cleaner on it.

 

I'm tempted to get one on my GX470 and Prerunner after driving through 1 1/2 -2 feet of water during Harvey. I'd feel like a poser with one on a 2wd truck tho.

 

This cracks me up! Just drilled a 4" hole in your truck and you dont want to drill 3 little rivets holes.! I get it but still you have to see the irony

 

Fenders are easy to replace. A-pillars are not.

 

I read some where on here about someone using military grade Velcro. The hard plastic kind.
