The wife doesn't want the dog in "her" new truck (yet) and I need to transport the dog in the leather seats of her old Nissan Murano LE. I need to get claw proof. I would like cheap. Any recommendations for both vehicles?
P.S. A happy wife is a happy life so let her have her dreams.

I want only to prevent damage from dog claws. Nothing else.

Cheap and most reliable that I have ever used, is old towels and blankets from home. I've tried a few other things over the years but towels and blankets are normally already around, easy in/out as needed, easy to clean/wash, easy to pull out and shake out if you have furry dogs, and I don't care if they get stained or dirty.

^What he said. I poked two holes in the towel near one end so that the headrest posts could pass through and hold it up.

Yep, I had same idea (post #4)... Since nails are the only issue, modify the dog, not the truck.

Harbor Freight moving blankets are a few bucks a piece, thick, padded, cheap to replace, durable, and washable.

That said.. if the interior can't be marred by a large dog, put him/her in the bed.

I have had Wet Okole's they didn't last the dog or the kid. Switched to Ruff Tuff canvas type seat covers I had in my 4 runner for years. They work great. And unlike the WO's you can order just a damaged piece if something happens. Just my two cents. I have had two sets of each kind on two different vehicles. -Jon

Had me looking at my suggestion. 4.8 out of 5 stars. But I really didn't need to check because I like mine and another member bought a set for his truck on my suggestion and he likes his also.
