Never had a tonneau cover before, prices seem to vary a good bit. I think the roll up type would be best for me. Other than that I have know idea what's good.

The Access cover is what I used on my last Tacoma. It's Made in USA.

Truxedo lo pro lq best made. Installs easy, can roll it up and take it completely off in less than a minute.

I have had a few Access also on different trucks. Have had better luck with Original access, over the low profile. Hook-and-loop holds better, with snow and ice weight.

Truxedo rollup FTW. It's around $300 and many folks here have run it for years with good results. Had mine almost a year and love it.

I prefer roll up covers myself. They're cheaper than other other options and gives easy and fast access to the whole bed when you need it.

Regarding Access covers. I've wanted one for a while because they're highly regarded on the previous forum I was on. So it was an automatic choice when I bought my Tacoma and practically ordered it the same night I brought home the Tacoma. I went with the cheaper option, Literider. Because the cover on my previous truck the Truxedo Truxport was within the same price range and served my purposes well.

I'm not sure if it's an issue with the cover or the Tacoma's bed. But there's slight leakage and I'm kind of disappointed in it. It didn't come with the blocks to cover the gaps in the front of the bed, that you see other posts mentioned coming with other covers. So leaks come from there, some around the sides towards the end of the bed near the tailgate where it flares out a bit. And some misting on my stuff there sometimes. Not a big deal so far. But kind of disappointing based on my previous experience with the Truxport on my other truck, which kept everything nice and dry.

I kind of wonder if I should have stuck with a Truxport but I didn't like how it didn't come with quick release clips for the straps, which the Access had. Or the Tyger, which is the cheapest option out there, which causes some concern, but looks like it meets most of my criteria.

Some things to keep in mind with covers and the Tacoma:
-as mentioned there are gaps in front of the bed and the bed sides flare out a bit towards the tailgate. So are both potential spots for leaks

-the track railing of the Tacoma is really high up on the bed. So depending on the installation steps of the cover you get, it might affect the clamps to hold the cover might affect full use of the accessories that you have for those tracks. For example I got a bed divider also and expected to be able to fully slide it back and forth as needed. But the clamps used to install the cover uses the tracks limiting how far you can slide items back and forth. I ended up just removing the bed divider because it wasn't as covenient and easy to use as I hoped it would be due to the clamps for the bed cover. In my previous truck, those rails were lower, so there were no issues in using clamps on the bed railings. And looking at second gen Tacoma installation instructions, it looks like the track railings were removed and had the clamps installed behind them giving full access to the rails as needed. So make sure to look at the installation instructions before ordering the cover too, just to make sure you know what might be affected.

The Access cover itself is really nice and I might be open to trying out the Original cover. But due to price I'd probably either get a Truxport or Tyger the next time around.

Access...I have had them on four vehicles...three Rams and my 2018 Tacoma. Great quality and excellent Customer Service. I prefer the Original over the low profile model. I've had both.

Just don't kid yourself that any cover is going to be a 100% waterproof. There's a lot of Karens in here that get all upset when that boxed wine they put in the back got a few dribbles of water on it

I had the Truxedo Truxport on my Silverado. It was nice and lasted about 5 years before it started falling apart, still kept it on when I sold the truck. The cross supports were secured with velcro which gave out from snow and rain puddling. I was too lazy to repair it.

Other than that the only downside was my wife couldn't ever figure out how to unlock it to roll it up.

All things considered if my new truck hadn't came with the OEM cover I'd buy another Truxedo.

Another happy Truxedo fan here. Have had mine 3 years and no issues at all, I use 303 protectant on it regularly and so far it looks brand new. The only thing that has faded is the Truxport tag at the very end near my tailgate
