    There are also several larger body plugs in the floor panels that can accommodate your wires. Cutting into your firewall is def not a good solution.

    I ran my switchpro wires through the same hole as the hood cable. I used electrical tape to secure the wires to a section of clothes hanger, and some dish soap as lube. No cutting necessary unless you have a massive bundle.

    Get a coat hangar or other thick wire and fish it through with ends sticking out both ends of hole, connect wire to end with gorilla tape and rub a bit of soapy water (or KY if you like that) and pull it through- no drilling needed!

    the firewall is super tight. My wires aren't even that big, but I couldn't seem to be able to get anything through the firewall. People mentioned that there is a perfectly useable grommet somewhere near the firewall. Can you point it out in the picture?

    Just use the hood cable hole like I posted above. Its in the pic you posted up. Pull the cable to the side, coat hanger or wire will slide right through. Use tape to secure it, but when you do build up the tape to create a taper so it goes through easier. It will stretch far enough to allow a switchpro connector plus the multiple layers of tape.

    Do not try to push anything through the bundle to the right of the hood cable, you will fuck the harness up.

    You see that small 3/4” ish plug at middle/left. Pull that shit, cut a hole in it to fit your wires, cut a slit in the carpet behind it and run wires into the cab.

    Edit: if 3rd gen firewalls are anything like 2nd gen which they pretty much 99% are, you should have another small hole plug on passenger side too.

    No that’s your wipers cable. The hood release cable is a solid cable with the gray disc around it entering the main firewall grommet in your prev pic

    Yes. It comes right out. There will be a carpet backing behind it. Cut a hole in carpet to fit your wires. Wires will pop out up behind dash.

    You can always get a new like $1 plug replacement if you want to change it later.

    mmmmmm yes it can be for sure. Then there are N-type males with multiple spacers/gaskets and such that come with a assembly diagram AND have soldered center pins. Internal braid clamp and nut on the back end....gaaaah.

    I recently got a bag of mini-uhf female connectors for RG-58 - all solder type. Conversely, the bag of males is all crimp center pin.

    A big surprise was N-type females for LMR-400 - no soldering, and no crimp for the center. Just cut everything to the proper lengths, insert, trim braid and crimp! Oh and there's a cutting tool for that! super easy.

    Lol, sorry.. it's always been a part of what I do.

    Yeah that is sweet. I have a question though (and don't laugh please lol) - is that shrink you put over the sheath?
    My heat gun fucks that stuff up badly if you're not super careful. It only has two settings that matter - incinerate and nuclear lol.

    You want to use heatshrink, preferable adhesive lined and if he used good wire loom it shouldnt melt either. Sourcing on that is I build cables for a living lol.

    To be honest the "nuclear" heat setting should mess up the heat shrink. Back the heat gun off of the heat shrink and rotate thr gun around thr cable/wire. Distance usually helps. My guys at work shrink their heat shrink at 1200 degrees... Cracks me up because 600 works fine people just seem to think more is better.
