Getting a new Tacoma Sport and wondering where you guys shop for accessories. I will be adding Prediter side steps, badge overlays, LED interior lights, red start button, etc. What are your go-to venders?
    Thanks!

There is a forum category for Vendors on this page. People buy from all over the internet but stay off Meso Custom's website. Your wallet will thank you

Also try to avoid generic Amazon stuff. Many of those overlays fade in the sun and you will end up regretting.

Stick to quality stuff. Buy once, cry once.

Extreme Terrain is a decent "one stop shop" for many different accessories. Shy away from Tacoma Beast...unethical owners but that is my opinion.

You need to do your research. And you need to determine such things as: is OEM what I want or not. Is it something custom?

Personally, I have purchased from a Toyota dealership, a Subaru dealership, Etsy, Amazon, ebay and a few others. Depends on what I'm purchasing of course, and potentially who is making it.

I DO NOT look for the most inexpensive item amongst similar items. I look at what others are buying, but do not necessarily purchase what they purchase.

And, in the case of a FWD camera, I designed and built my own interface just to see if I could do it.

There is no race. There is no optimal purchase other than one you feel good with. It's your truck, your journey. Welcome to the world of truck modding / customization.

Thanks for the info! I will take my time and research each item as best I can. Don't exactly have endless money to burn!

Good luck on your journey. Just remember when it comes to certain things like off road lighting, dont cheap out, get the better ones. Ive had cheap auxiliary lighting for example and the performance was bad and didnt last. So that was just wasted money.

I picked up quite a few tacoma accessories for my truck from Hookeroad, and I’ve been impressed with the quality for the price. They offer everything from side steps to LED lights. Their Predator side steps are a solid choice—easy to install and they look great.

Decide your priorities in what needs attention. For me sliders are for the future when I do more rock-sliding off-road (several hundred $$). Lifting the truck is not high on my list yet, but slightly improved shocks would be sooner than a lift (still several hundred $$). Replaced halogen H11 headlights for H9 (remove the green inserts, $30/yr). Improved interior lighting can be $150 but it can make your life much better better. A tailgate lock that prevents theft ($35 from a TW member or $100 from SaBellCo) seemed a good idea. Taillight LEDs to replace halogen taillights was $200, but brighter and last longer. Skid plates protect the underside for most any road and do not require heavy off-road ($750) and came with catalytic converter guards to prevent theft.

Bed racks, RTTs, GFCs, bed-caps, ditchlights, winches, etc. ... they can wait.

    Congrats on the truck..!!!
I think one of the things we all love about the Tacoma is the ability to set it up just the way we want it.

When I picked up my new 2021 I was all over these sites looking at this and looking at that.
I made a list of things I wanted and checked it twice.

Then I put that list aside and waited a few months.

Mysteriously some of the things on that list became less important to me, and I suggest you do the same.

You might end up saving a bit of cash on things you'll realize you want but don't really need and can live without.

For 'functional' bits - be patient and hang on to your wallet at first. Use your Taco and find what you really need. There is so much stuff available, that looks cool, and is popular with Taco owners that you start coveting all kinds of stuff. But it is often unnecessary.

It would not be an issue - but more stuff stuck on your Taco, the more it weighs you down - impacting capability (to carry your actual gear) and performance to get you movin'!
