Best Performance Mod for 3rd Gen

So in the past, I’ve always spent $$ on the exterior first & never in the engine (Mainly on cars, never opened a truck till now).

I understand it’s a truck & it doesn’t need to go “fast”. Just wondering if there’s any performance mod worth doing on the the 3rd gen. Thnx for any input.

A lot of people recommend the Pedal Commander. Although it doesn’t add horsepower, the throttle hesitation is fixed tremendously

Besides the basics like intake and exhaust, are you looking to gain HP or more torque?

 

Look up OV Tune, they make a programmer for the 3rd gen. He has a thread here on TW too.

 

As of right now, the OV tune ECU flash is the only significant way to improve engine performance.

 

Mainly looking for any performance upgrade that’s worth it. Either in HP or torque.

 

This. The OVTune has made my truck so much more responsive and a joy to drive.

 

I’m sure it’s worth the money. Especially going from stock
