I just went on a very dusty trip and I’ve got the squeaky leaf spring situation now. I thought it was a joke, until it happened to me, and realized how bad it can actually be.

I have heard guys jack up their trucks via the frame, to open up the leaf, and spray lube etc in between the leaves to stop this.

What is the best lube option you’ve tried?

    All of them.
Personally I've had luck with wd40. Just load it on.

Funny. Did Stampede Pass yesterday and halfway down mine started squeaking. 3,000 miles. I’m gonna follow this thread for sure.

Check if tsb applies to you. If not, pressure washer then pb blaster silicone is good

He asked for a lubricant, not a penetrant. Personally, I'd go with KY.

    Recommend any NGLI #2 Multipurpose

IF you want to go the distance, pull the pack and separate the leafs and put lube on the leaf ends and around the center pin.

    Desert inhabitant here.

Pressure wash the dust/sand out first. Then spray a silicone spray if it still squeaks.

If it didn't make noise before (and you didn't cause any damage hot dogging it off-road) just the pressure wash should do it.

I had squeaky leafs on my 2001 tundra that would drive you nuts. Lubing them was temporary at best. I ended up removing the leafs, and separating them while installing some of these thin teflon/plastic pads between them, and clamping them back together. Never had another squeak of clunk in all the years after.

The best I've seen is taking the pack apart and greasing everything including the thin metal "shims"

Been running these for two and a half wheeling seasons with no lube and no maintenance. No squeaks from the leafs. A bit labor-intensive to install as you have to undo the center pin and separate all the leafs.

When mine get squeaky, I hit the them with some motorcycle chain lube as that's what had laying around at the time. Worked great the first time I used it and have been continuing to use it ever since

Did these on my Dakars and never once had a squeak. And this was after many wheeling, mudding, and water-crossing trips. They're easy to install and trim.

That is what my local spring shop did for me. New anti-friction pads never a squeak now living on a dirt road. Hated the squeak

I prefer KY for the front...his issue is the back so I'd go with Astroglide.

Better to put on the Speedway liners than to put it in bareback. You also gain about half an inch.

I use to do that for my tundra...after 1 winter the squeaking and clunking was back. This works, but its the short term answer if you live up north.

Jack up the truck in the back to create space between the leaves , use an air compressor to blow them out, then use a lubricant that has graphite in it.

After installing an add a leaf, mine sounded like an old farm wagon going down the road until today. Just bought Lucas Chain Lube this morning at the auto parts store and the annoying squeak is now history.
