285/70/17s on 17x9 inch rims. Billstein 5100s set to 2.5 inches in front, none in back.
I have recently gotten a 2018 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4. I want to fit 33x12.5 without having to trim plastic or metal (I know it’s a lot to ask but it’s a new truck and I don’t want to mess with it). I know I will likely have to trim some but if I did I’d rather chop some metal instead of any plastic. I was thinking of getting a 3 inch Rough Country suspension lift and going with 33x12.5x20s on 20x10 inch rims with a -24mm offset. Is this a good choice? If not, what size lift and type of lift is best. I am willing to spend whatever it costs but I’d like to not overspend if I don’t have too.

Also, what is the best rim size for 33x12.5s. I want to get 20x10s but idk if the truck can handle 20s. Are 18s a better size? And if so, how wide of rim? If 20s would work, how wide would that rim need to be.

What you are asking about is not very popular on this forum but there are a few that run drop bracket lifts. Not sure on the 20s, was never a fan of wagon wheels

Anyways the problem is not really about going up but going out. The 12.5 wide part will give you some trouble. A 10” rim is a good non-offroad wheel width size for a 12.5 tire.

There are a lot of suspension options but you will have to trim, cut, weld, and bang to fit them. Could always go long travel!

Thanks to all who have responded. Would an 11.5 inch wide tire be a lot easier to fit than a 12.5 in wide tire? Not to concerned about the width I would just like to get 33s. And if I could fit them on a 3 inch lift I’d like that more than a 6 inch. 4 inches is maximum I want to go.

285s are generally the go to tire size for most. However you will still have to trim, maybe a CMC and make some modifications, and better UCA that let you set caster to +4.

People who say they don’t rub are lying or never turn their wheels. There is rubbing usually at full lock or when the suspension is flexing.

You can search the forum and the suspension forum here for 33s and 285 to get more info.

I assume you have a 17x9 wheel, if so do you think you would have an issue rubbing the UCA if you had a zero offset wheel?
