I recently upgraded from a 97 lx Taco to a 11 PreRunner. I plan to put some black housing clear headlights in the truck along with some matching fog housings. Had been thinking about getting HID’s or LED’s but I’ve heard a lot of bad things about using either in reflective style headlights. I’ve ran HID’s in my other vehicle with reflective housings and never had any issue. Anybody running HID’s or led’s on a 2nd gen? If so, any complaints?

I'M running the H4 Hid kit from TRS in OEM reflector housings, just have to aim them correctly,I don't get flashed by other driver. The only people that hate them are on this site running Projectors

For the love of all things holy...don't be putting HIDs or LEDs into reflective housings for which they were not intended. You're just going to blind everyone else and it's not going to give you more lumens down the road in front of you. Do some research and find the correct projector style housing for the bulbs you want to run.

Retrofits with proper projectors or stay stock. I messed with leds and hids in stock housings and I couldn’t see shit. Ended up going back to stock halogens.
