Looking for feedback on the best H-9 replacement headlight bulb 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport Double Cab.. Stock bulbs do not have enough distance when driving country roads. Want to keep everything stock so looking for a plug and play solution - no LED's etc.. H-9's appear to be limited in upgraded versions. Are H-9's listed other than an H-9 part number? Lots of great tech articles. Apologize if this issue was covered in another posting. Thanx in advance

I too couldn't find any better h9 bulbs when I put led bulbs in my low beam. So I just put in sylvania silver star white light halogen bulbs, but not the blue ones.

I too am looking for a better high beam (H9) for the same reason, the Hella 9 was no better than the stock Philips (made in Germany) H9's that came with the truck.

The Philips German H9s actually appear to just edge out the Hellas, but are a good bump over the Osram H9s. For the low beams, the Philips H9s are the best performers so far followed closely by the Hellas which are cheaper and more readily available.

For best high beam, higher wattage helps. I've only found 1 somewhat legit looking higher wattage H9, that is the Xencn 70w H9. I've ordered the bulb from China twice off aliexpress, even paid for upgrading shipping the 2nd time. Both times the packages were marked 'delivered' by China tracking and yet never showed up. I have the stuff delivered to my secure office, so porch pirates are not a thing. I may try a 3rd time and specify DHL shipping to get a real carrier, which is like 5x the cost of the bulbs.

Relayed harnesses help increase voltage and improve output, but that will only buy ~15% improvement and does not seem worth while for the high beam. I'm also looking at increasing alternator voltage to support proper AGM battery charging, which will be a pretty decent bump in voltage which will significantly increase halogen performance. It does require an AGM battery and I am not yet sure that it will work on a 3rd Gen.

I’ve found a significant improvement in the stock high beam’s reach by aiming my headlights up slightly, which also improved the low beams as well since they’re linked. It’s my opinion after some testing and research that Toyota prioritized minimized glare with the stock headlight aim.

    Here’s what I did:

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
I did this exact same thing and I have found that, even though I expected to be "flashed"' it has not happened. So I am assuming, they are as high as they can be set without blinding any oncoming traffic. I have been running this way for 3 months now.
