Best fix for missing sliding rear window latch piece?

    The stationary piece that the sliding rear window latches too, is AWOL. Any proven fixes found here that I can copy ??

    I appreciate the replies, and that IS the simple answer I guess. Use the same method on the house sliding patio door track. The track bar is a very secure lock. But,….. I was actually wanting to be able to open and close using the OEM latch on to some replaced “target” catch similar to the one that got lost.
    If you reach over the back and open the window while riding like I do often, the Bar is an issue. The design is a weak point that’s for sure!

    Install a power slider to the window.

    Self-locking, button on dash to open/close, no need to turn around to open/close.........

    Yeah, its not simple.

    Likely will use the Track Blocker method in the evening. Simple and CHEAP!! Gotta wonder what Toyota was thinking? Do the Gen 3 trucks have the same latch issues?
