Summer is coming to a close and it's about that time to clean the undercarriage and put on a fresh new coat of Fluid Film. I applied FF last summer on all the suspension and frame components; and now there is a years worth of dirt and grime stuck to the frame. What is the best de-greaser to remove all of this shit before I put on a fresh new coat? I'd like something highlight concentrated that does most of the work itself so I don't have to scrub anything, and will rinse off. Bonus points if it's biodegradable and safe on rubber & plastic. Cheers!

Why would you remove it? mine is covered with ff and encrusted in grime it’s perfectly entombed. Wipe it with your finger and brand new frame.

Because you're supposed to re- apply fluid film every year. It doesn't make sense to apply it over a layer of dirt, but rather, on the frame itself.

Some short of concentrated degreaser in a pressure washer with an undercarrige attachment would probably be the easiest. Bonus points if its a hot water pressure washer.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
To get the best answer call the manufacture and ask. No guesses I would think in processing things do need cleaning.

Start with pressure washing !! Then sand blasting The only way I have yet to remove it.

After all it is made to withstand harsh winter chemicals.

From my experience a hot water pressure washer is the only way to go. However, I have an outside lift. Without a lift I would just go to the self serve car wash and get it the best I could. For spot cleaning I use a acetone wet rag. Those products are wonderful till you have to work around them or get them off.
I'm with the others about just going over the old.

I've always sprayed over existing fluid film/woolwax coatings myself. If there's a lot of dirt on it, I use a garden hose to lift the dirt off. I don't want to completely remove the coating.

I think you'll have to get a gallon of wd-40.

put in a squirt bottle and proceed to float everything off as best you can.

Get a selection of different shaped brushes...

    spray rag, repeat, until happy...

Maybe allow a week in hot summer to dry before FF.

If you pressure wash.....you'll be sorry.....as kinds of perils there...
these trucks are old....you dont want water trapped anywhere.....

Good news is the newly pre oiled steel will now wick FF into its deepest cracks...

FF is lanolin. lanolin breaks down with heat. A diluted lanolin alcohol mix or some starting fluid.
Whenever removing chemicals, paints, inks or glues diluting/thinning it with the base of whatever the product is made of will get rid of it the best.

A lanolin/99% alcohol mix in a gallon jug, that a hot water pressure washer draws out of would probably blast that shit right off.

I just hose the undercarriage off as thoroughly as possible and whatever doesn’t come off gets coated in fluid film. Not worth the effort to do more than that imo.
