Best/cheapest way to get a duplicate key fob?

So I have a push-to-start Taco, and I have been needing to get a new key fob made (it only had one when I got it). Does anyone have a recommendations on the most cost-effective way to do this? I've heard you can buy a blank fob online and have a locksmith come and program it for you. Is that true? If so, can anyone recommend a supplier?

Are they really $300 at the dealer ?

 

The dealer I went to wanted to charge $400

 

I thought they could make one off the vin , guess I was wrong . It looks like a $100 item not $400 .

I was in the same boat and recently purchased a brand new one from the link below for $99 with free shipping. I had a local guy that I found on craigslist program it for $80. I do still need to have the key cut at a locksmith which shouldn't be too much.

If you go to ebay be careful of the cheaper ones on there as most of them are refurbished.
