I have an Alps Mountaineering King Kong chair. Amazingly comfortable but definitely takes up more space than a standard camp chair.

    Great post.

I have two different sets of chairs that I use depending on what I am doing an where I am going.

I have this chair that is great for packing on your back, but it sits really low to the ground:

    https://www.costco.com/tommy-bahama-beach-chair-.product.100524749.html

I also have this chair that I typically use around the campfire:

    https://www.coleman.com/featured/tailgate-must-haves/aluminum-deck-chair/COL_2000020293.html

I have also been looking at this chair due to its padding, but you couldn't use something like this when it rains or in heavy fog by the beach:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084T7DRNG?colid=1ECE8JKRS1JG2&coliid=I2SOKJOGE2NVLB&ref_=wr_ov_pt

    Good luck in your search!

Thanks everyone. I ended up purchasing a couple of these (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B073B3HLVP/) which look like a Helinox Savanna copy. So far the setup and test in the livingroom has been positive. Here's hoping that they'll last.
My only complaints with them so far are that you can't "lean forward" like you would at a campfire (there's no support under the thigh area and it feels like something is going to bend or break), and they take a couple minutes to set up and put away. But they're quite comfortable when sitting in them and compact when stored.

I tried out a Nemo Stargazer luxury recliner a friend of mine had and I liked it. Didn't like the price but I kept a watch on REI's used gear site and scored two for %50 off

Sturdy, reliable, comfortable. Every time I am group camping someone always tries to steal my chair!

Buying a helinox chair for truck camping is a little extreme, those are lightweight backpacking chairs.

Any big box outdoors store usually has a few models of camping chairs ranging from $15-25, but I personally like the oversized camping chairs from home depot for about $5. They have them seasonally (or used to) around Memorial Day.

The Coleman chair can be an excellent addition to your essential stuff for an enjoyable trip into nature. I recently bought this chair, very satisfied with it. The width of the seat is nice and slightly cushioned on the seat and backrest. The build-in cooler is a nice addition. You can consider it.

Helinox Chair One if you have to carry/pack it. Eureka camp chair if you don't. I've seen a lot of knock offs fail on trips but the helinox keeps on going.

The GCI chairs are easily the best camp chairs I have ever owned. The only downside is they have a large footprint when storing so make sure you have the space. 10/10 would recommend.

So I just got one of these chairs, beefy to say the least! The only bad thing I noticed is I'm 6'1" and my heels barely touch the ground so they aren't kidding when they say tall.

Was going to get a FrontRunner chair but it was almost $100 with shipping right from FrontRunner.

Bass-Pro rocking chairs, hands. down. Ive tested a lot of chairs and I always come back to these. I'm not a huge fan of the cloth arms as opposed to the tube arms, but even with that drawback they are still the most comfortable chair by far.

Dinosaur here. Gimme' an old-school folding lawn chair. No feet to dig into the ground, two metal bars instead. $8. Simple. Lightweight. I will make room for a reclining gravity chair for when I need a nap and am too dirty to get in the hammock.

Coleman Camping chair, every large-size guy should have a test on this! You can't find better fat man friendly chair on Amazon.

ALPS Mountaineering Heavy Duty KING KONG Chair

    https://www.amazon.com/ALPS-Mountaineering-King-Kong-Chair/dp/B09HCP37PR

Made to hold 800lbs. My dad is a hair under 200lbs or so but I got him two of these about 10 years ago. He sits in one every single day/night. Still looks new.
