Hey guys: This is a mod I meant to do a long time ago but just never got around to it and now my truck is getting older but it would still be a "NICE TO HAVE"! ha I love the concept of the Bakflip type tonneau covers and the ones you flip up basically. I think the MX4 is the kind u can flip without opening your tailgate? I don't have a lock on my tailgate (old truck), and am not sure i would even care to do all that replacing (i have an aftermarket handle with a backup cam installed since they didn't do the OEM ones until 2009). I wouldn't keep work stuff or anyting valuable there.. just a nice to have for grocery runs or luggage to the airport, etc. what would you guys suggest for Best BANG FOR THE BUCK! i've searched the used stuff all over and it seems hard in my geographic area (mississippi). $1000 seems kinda steep for the age of the truck, etc. thanks!

I purchased this when I bought my 3rd gen LB:

I'm in line for a GFC so didn't want to spend too much on a tonneau cover, but I wouldn't trust anything left in my bed in my neighboorhood even for a run into the store or something so needed some security. Given the price, I fully expected this to be very poor quality, but It turned out to be pretty nice, and comparable to the one on my dad's Tundra that he paid over 1k for. Still needs sealing around the corners of the bed, but that is more the leaky Tacoma bed than the cover. I've walked around on it no problem, and it folds pretty easily. Can't argue with the price- looks like they also make a shortbed version.
