I bought the 255 75 17 KO2's. Speedometer is going to be off. What is the best way to stay informed on my speed over ground? Phone app and phone in holder near line of sight? BEST app to install? Any app that displays other parameters a gearhead might like to see? Thanks!

Waze is the easiest. If you want to dongle up, there's Torque Pro and Fusion OBD.

Because of greater tire circumference (roll-out) I need an app that will NOT take the OBDII odometer readout (because its now going to be wrong), but rather let me input my odometer miles on the day I put the tires on and keep track of my mileage CUMULATIVELY, from then on, replacing my odometer. If it has a trip odometer that's fine, but I need an app that is going to store my total miles for me, and not just the last trip I made. Want that done in the background without my constant input to keep it accurate and current. WANT IT TO AUTO-START odometer IN THE TACO ONLY, SENSE WHEN I'M IN THE TACO AND ONLY AUTO START IN IT. Don't want it to auto-start in any of my other vehicles and thereby add their miles to the Taco's miles. Had that problem with TripLog. Great logger, but damn, you had to be on that app constantly.

There's an App to help you find the best App for that. :anonymous:

Seriously, your best long term solution is to recalibrate the speedometer/odometer. Phones and Apps come and go. The truck's odometer will be there long term.

I grasp your sound logic. Can you recommend which is the best?

AFAIK there is only one. Hypertech.

Have you verified your speedo / odo is spot on now?

Many report taller tires actually correct them.

I use an app called Speed Box on my iPhone. There is probably one for android. WAZE also works pretty well.
With my 265/70/17's, I was about 1-2 MPH fast at 70.

You did NOT say ANY of that in the OP.

You're going to be on your own for something that specialized.

In the end, you are talking about a tire that is 1.5in taller overall than stock (0.75in each way) with almost a 0.5in of tread depth. It might be a wash, esp over time.

Just get a speedo calibrator. Your speedo, ODO, and MPG on the cluster will be accurate instead of trying to guess or fumbling around with a phone app.

On my S8 I use GPS/Speedometer. Very accurate, I used the info to have the ECM recalibrate so the trucks speedo was correct. I did both tires and gears.

Could you share details on how you recalibrated the ECM?

I've been using Torque and the BFX Bluetooth Dongle. Easy and cheap. Like $20 with solid reviews.

I just wanted to say, even though it is not what the OP wants, Google Maps can now show your speed.
