what is everyone using for a portable air compressor? I don’t need anything for airing all 4 tires up and down. Just a SHTF compressor I can use with the 110 outlet in the bed for power....

I'm in your same boat.... I want more flexibility to use the compressor for more than just my truck and an on-board air system limits that...

looking to see what y'all say

There’s been another thread on this, and some people say it works fine, but many 110V compressors draw to much current, even if only on startup, to work with the in-bed inverter. There’s lots of places to tap into 12V for on-board or even a portable 12V compressor.

By design, you can get more output for a compressor if you plug into your 12VDC outlet than the 110VAC in the bed of the truck. You won't need the truck to be running to utilize it either.

    ^^^they are right^^^

A good 12v compressor with a reservoir tank is the best way to go for portable air tools.

Where exactly do you tap into for a 12v portable compressor? Sorry Taco rookie here

Yup--I've had the exact same one for a couple years now and it's been fantastic! 100% duty cycle so you can run it constantly without fear of burning it up. Airs tires up quickly and works great for intermittently running air tools or blowing dust off gear after a long day on the trail.

Simplest would be to the outlets on your lower dash

It won't run them continuously... but it will run a 1/2" Snap-On impact or other similar high draw pneumatic tool for short periods (15-20ish second intervals)
