I'd go with the General Grabber ATX, personally. The AT2 was by far the best A/T tire I've had for winter conditions, and the ATX is the replacement for it.

Deep snow? Duratracs are awesome. Lite snow and slush? Dedicated snow tire will when that battle every time

I used to think the same thing until I purchased the General Grabber ATPs. They are 3peak rated and sucked in the winter.

Also, my LT Duratracs were great in the winter for the first 2 years, but started to suck very quickly even through they still a decent amount of tread left (siping didn't seem to be full tread depth?)

For our trucks, anyone wanting the best winter performance should stay away from LT and go for SLs for the different tread compound and often more siping.

X2 great tire all around and for the New England winters. I would buy again.

I’ve been fairly happy with my duratracs so far! They seem to do good in the snow!

How would you say the Toyo ATIIIs compare to the duratracs in the snow? I'm due for a new set of tires and I'm super on the fence between getting another set of duratracs (which I LOVE in the snow) and trying the new Toyos. Not alot of snow reviews out on the new Toyos yet since they came out this spring.

I’ve got grabber a/tx and I think they suck in the snow. But I always run a winter tire so it’s not a fair comparison. If you’re looking for proper winter rubber, the grabber arctic (I’m getting mine swapped Saturday!) are great and they look like real truck tires too.

Still haven't had enough snow yet to tell, just got em in august... but so far in the couple snows we did have they have been great! I didn't have duratracs on the taco so not a great comparision, but compared to the ko2 I didn't have to bump into 4wd to get up the big hill to my house and my icy driveway, stayed in 2wd and didn't really have any weight in the bed unlike I usually do in the winter. The traction is way better than ko2, similar to the good traction I remember with the duratracs. That right there impressed me. Once we get a real good storm I'll come back to update. However, after some rocky trails I noticed I have some minor chunking of the tread lugs on the toyos and never had that with the duratracs. Not a big deal but I'll definitely keep my eye on that

I got 255/80/17 in load E so I was worried they would be heavy and stiff but after airing down and hitting some trails they are great.

+1 for Duratracs If you plan on adding weight in the future buy the correct load range.

I vote K02. A little weight in the back and I was all good in a mess of snow last year.

+1 for Duratracs. I had them on my '02 PreRunner in NE Ohio winters and thought they were great in the snow. I currently have Gen Grabber ATX's - they're decent so far, but I feel like I haven't challenged them enough in the snow to form a strong opinion.

i have p-load falken at3w's. i read somewhere that the p-load version has a softer rubber compound compared to c-load that in theory might work better in winter temperatures.

Wildpeak AT3's. We didn't get much snow last winter, but in the few storms we had, they were absolutely excellent.
