Need to replace the headlight lens assembly on the 2011 Tacoma. I want a pair that has a good reputation as far as not leaking water on the inside and not yellowing in a year.

    Does anyone have any recommendations?

    Thanks

I just replaced mine with Spyder LED Halo lights. So far no complaints. OEM is probably better quality though, if you're that concerned about the housing.

All the 100-150 aftermarkets will leak within a year or two - sealing the seam with aquarium grade silicon will help make them last. The lens is cheaper grade plastic so they will also scratch faster than OEM if you offroad on tighter trails with bushes/tree branches/sage. Some aftermarkets have a longer-term warranty you can buy thru like Allstate or others as base is like 90 days. Good luck.

IMO it's better to refinish old lights than buy aftermarket. The only problem with the OEM lights is that they get hazy. But that's a fairly easy fix if you sand and spray with appropriate clear coat. A little bit of work but likely cheaper than new lights. Or fork over a little more and pay someone to refinish them for you.

But above all, you must realize that ALL headlights, doesn't matter if they're OEM or aftermarket, ARE going to get hazy. UNLESS you make a concerted effort to prevent that from happening. You need to regularly apply wax or some sort of sealant (which are UV protectants) just like you do to the paint on your truck. If you don't protect your exterior surfaces and materials from UV then they WILL be degraded over time.

And if the lights are actually damaged beyond what refinishing can fix then I'd buy used OEM before aftermarket, personally. New OEM would be best but obviously a bit pricy.

I took a chance on some fleabay aftermarket ones and surprisingly they have held up quite well, no leaking & only starting to get hazy. I've had them a few years now.
The bulbs suck tho, had to replace within a week. & the adjuster broke on the passenger side (luckily it was close enough). But for $100 to my door, I really can't complain.

Do you mean higher price better product?

Amazon only has about 50 different manufacturers so that is a broad statement.

Depo is the best after oem and alpharex are relabeled Chinese garbage. Just ask @crashnburn80 hes done multiple test with them showing how crappy there light output really is. Otherwise a proper retrofit led or hid projector are the best options I think.
