Just curious to see what you guys say what is the best 6x9. I have some right now but I feel like the audio isnt as clear as I want it to be. And im looking for a 6x9 that performs well at higher volumes also. Any recommendations? Money isnt a problem so send away what you got or you are rocking right now?

You're going to find more quality 6.5" component options that can handle power (like 100-150W RMS). But you need a decent amp to drive them. Find a dealer and listen to some Focal 165K or KX2s, or Morels, and compare to whatever normal consumer brand they have- Kicker/Rockford/JBL etc. There are a number of high end brands and you need to listen to them in person to determine what suits your taste.

Dsp is kinda overrated. Not that time alignment and all that isn’t fun but honestly the average person can’t tell the difference and it’s just more crap to deal with. A good amp and head unit with a decent eq is good enough for most. Just an opinion though.

I like my Kicker KS 6x9 set bi-amped off of a Kicker Key 200.4. However, I wouldn't recommend them running of deck power if that's your plan.

I have put in Racesport gen3 leds I'm the process of doing a custom audio overhaul which will include Hybrid audio unity 6x9 mid bass, unity 3 inch mid driver in the dash and fiberglassing tweets in pilar soundeading all the doors, floors, and headliner and I will be using a helix processor to retain the factory radio and as far as subs I might make custom brackets to move rear seat foward a few inches to get a full size sub in there or I might just go with a pair of jl tw5 or tw3 and it will all be powered by jl audio HD amps or I might try out the new hybrid amps
Don’t listen to whoever tells you dsp is a waste of money a properly set up dsp will make a dramatic difference In your sound system. And if you want a great 6x9 component look into hybrid audio technologies I’ve been running there unity 6x9 neos since they were prototypes match those with there LEGATIA 3.5 inch mids or tweeter and you will have a kickass pair of speakers

A dsp is a tool that gives you a lot more tuning options. I’m not saying it’s a waste of money I have one myself. I have also used a bass restoration processor and other pieces of equipment. It’s a fun hobby but you absolutely do not need those things to build a good sounding system. People that tell you it’s a must are people trying to justify the money they have spent on it themselves. I have put together fairly budget friendly systems with middle of the road stuff no dsp no 3000 dollar amp and they have sounded good. In some cases it’s pretty hard to tell the difference.

Could not disagree more. The difference is drastic most of the time. Then again, you did say 'for most' so maybe that's fair. Most don't care one way or another. However if you're looking for the best sound you can squeak out of your audio system, DSP will make a significant difference. On point though, if ONLY using 2 or 3-way coax drivers up front, then it can be pretty good without DSP as most of the output is from more or less the same area (as opposed to separates where drivers are mounted in different locations.

Lots of midrange & up head units have DSP built in these days, so no external unit required with those. Even a front only coax/triax setup can benefit from DSP as the driver/passenger sit in an asymmetrical location relative to the speaker drivers - which both time alignment and L/R EQ can improve.

Back on topic though, I'd have to go with the Audiofrog GS set.

So yeah, absolutely because ignorance is bliss right? Like I’ve said before, a well tuned holy shit system won’t sound totally incredible for a lot of people until they’ve had one for a bit, and then when they hear a factory radio again they’ll realize the difference. It’s the same as when we all got high def TVs and switched from DVD to Blu-ray, “yeah that’s better… I guess” but busting out an old DVD because you want to watch the entire Star Wars movies all of a sudden is eye openingly unacceptable.

Granted, some decent EQ on a nice system without a DSP vs. a DSP tuned system is a little bit into the diminishing returns tier upgrade, but the effect is the same as watching DVDs when you’re used to Blu-ray.

The majority of consumers aren’t discerning until they’ve had it good for a while.
