Does anyone know how much space there is between the door and door panel for speakers. I am going to make my own mounts just wondering how thick they can be. The face height for speaker above mount is 9/16. Just wondering if 3/4 will work or will I need 1/2" for mdf.

well the only way i could figure is to measure the flat part on the top of the door panel and give another inch or so.

That will give you a really close estimate

oh sorry, I did not mean it like that. I was just kinda making fun of myself. I do appreciate your opinion. But lately I have been trying to make boxes and do all this stuff myself and have come to the sad realization that I am no good at building things.

subs. I did build but I am going to need to do it again. Should have just gone with marv in the first place. I just sent him money for the speaker brackets. The headache is getting to me.

I've talked with Marv about sub boxes and he showed me a picture that i think is a excellent design.
Heres what he came up with....

Oh I built it and it fits just fine. I am just going to build it again because it was the first time that I have ever done it. Thinking back, I now have better ideas on how to make it precise.

yeah there were gaps between pieces that I had made and I can think of how to fix that. I filled all the gaps with liquid nails and it just looks like butt. Even though I am going to carpet it I want to know that its better.
