I'm highly considering cutting the plastic frame behind my rear seats to fit an AR rifle bending them. This would involve cutting the off center divider. Has anyone done this before?

I have security worked out already. I'm currently looking for insight before I start cutting up the plastic.

There's a handful of molle panel options for behind rear seat options out there. Pick one and mount away!

    Oh look, another mod....

You can also buy Molle Panels for the headliner. That way it's easy reachable, but still secured.

Is that pistol caliber length? You guys in Texas have different laws than other states. I'd have to have mag locked away somewhere else if rifle. Where'd you get molle panel hardware?

That isn't my rifle or my truck. It's an picture I pulled off the internet. I keep all of my weapons hidden away, in a secure place. However; if you Google "Molle Panel Overhead rifle" you'll pull up the same pictures and links to vendors who sell that. You can also find behind the seatback molle panels for AR's and hand guns or shotguns.

I think that there are threads on this already. Its better to remove the plastic and fab up your own storage solution than to cut into it.

Can't fit an AR with an optic under the seat without having to remove the optic. I've only managed to get a pistol with the stock compressed under the rear seat.

I carry mine across the access-cab back-seats and use the seat-belts to strap it in when I go shooting, which I need to do but it's just so hot out.

Are things so bad you gotta have an A-R at your fingertips or is this simply for transport to a range or something.
Just curious how many times you've had to whip one out to defend yourself.
Seems like a Glock 19 would be easier to access.

agreed! CCW is the way, (unless you’re an uber driver in Yemen) and larping an M4 onto molle panels is ghay and just asking for trouble. Ymmv
