I am looking for a bedrug for my 1999 tacoma extened cab. I know they have stopped making them but I was hoping someone may have a used one in good condition they want to sell. Or know of a similar product. All suggestions appreciated.

I believe @gunny1005 at Camelback Toyota can still get them. He quoted one for a guy a while back.
    Worth a try...

If gunny1005 can't find one in your year, maybe ask him if one is available for a 2004....I believe the beds are the same size.
I swear he quoted someone recently for a 1st gen...

I just googled "bedrug tacoma"... I guess it is a bed-mat that is rug-like... ?

Anywho... I'm probably going to go back to where I had my truck linex'ed last
week, he quoted me $75 for a fitted bed "mat"...

The first thing I did on my "new" rig last week was get $20 worth of rolled carpet from Home Depot. Thin dense flat stuff with a backing that is semi-no-skid, you would put outdoors. 6'x5' and cut out the wheel well sections by hand. Its not fancy but its easier on my knees when I crawl back there for stuff occasionally and it looks better than the wear and tear of an old unlined bed.

I went on a website that you could search nationwide Craigslist and found a couple but for some reason or another I couldn’t anyone to respond.

Be careful of swindlers. The website is called “search tempest” I found one still in the box. I emailed, called, texted and no response. I reached out to a guy on here in the same vacinity as the Bedrug post and the guy contacted him once and then never responded back. :frusty:

I’ve been trying to find a bed rug that covers the whole entire area of the bed. One of my friends had it on his Ford ranger, it looked awesome. I even tried to contact funny1005 and no response

I think it’s a dead end. I tried a couple of times and found a couple on Craigslist that lead to a big fat nothing burger.

I found one six years ago and it was 450.00. Glad I picked it up but it’s damn heavy. It fits into every bed groove and is easy on the knees, it’s probably all of 150 lbs but it makes the bed look like a Mercedes trunk. I’ll post pics after I vaccum it.

I wish Bedrug still made it for 1st gens. I’d take a knock off if other companies sold them...

I wish that too, I can’t really beat mine it’s kinda
That bed looks the same as 30 years ago, no offense, still looks nice but hauling a load of wood with it nonetheless as the carpet is on frames. It probably knocks off some torque like my tonneau cover and my bed rug did. I’m thinking of selling both but like to be able to store bicycles in the bed when I go to the beach, just crying over lost hp but we all make sacrifices..:annoyed:

Yea there are downs and ups to having a carpeted kit for sure
It's really great for going to road trips and adventures, and always having a super comfortable place to crash (especially when you're drinkin)

It pairs nicely with a lifted camper shell, plenty of head room above and storage below
Comes right out in 2 minutes since its all modular, it's by no means screwed in for good.
6 foot bed and lifted shell can easily get a dirt bike in there and locked up snug once the kit is removed
Use a nice aluminum hitch rack for bikes (below)
And got tie downs on the side of the camper (below) for carrying lumber or whatever on top of the shell
I mean hey no1 needs to love it but everyone uses there Tacoma for their own reason, that's the beauty of these trucks

That’s a bitchin setup! I like a tall camper like that, you could travel and not stay in dirtyass hotels.

I also am looking for a kit for a reg cab 1st gen. Did anyone have any luck? I’m keeping an eye on offer up, CL, etc.

Some company somewhere should really be making kits, it’s weird they have the templates and wouldn’t still be selling them ‍♂️
