Bed storage solution help

Currently I have a milk crate in the back of my truck to store rope, bungees, clips and stuff. I also have a bakflip bed cover. I'm getting tired of a jumble of crap in the milk crate.

I'm looking for a tool/storage box about the same size of the milk crate, maybe a little bigger to hold all my crap in. Preferably water tight but not important. I would want it to have compartments and stuff to orgainze all my crap.

Any ideas? I searched and didn't find anything that fits my needs. Maybe something like this?

I have two ammo cans and a bungeed in plastic storage box. Works good and super cheap....

the milk crate is good cause it was free but then its a pain in the ass to get crap out of the bottom. Everything gets wet when cover is up. Time to spend a little bit of money.

 

Ok how about a 100 bucks...

 

I considered building a plywood box but it;ll eventually rot.

 

I know my set up isn't the best but I have less than $30 in it.

 

Heres my solution for under $50, Kong Box from the BX with 6 screws holding it to the bed, it dosen't move at all!

 

5 gallon bucket with a gamma seal lid?

 

Pelican case would be waterproof but $ , most tool boxes like the one you posted in the OP will let water in if they live outside all the time

fabricate something similiar that slides into the bed rails. somethign that doesnt touch the bed so you can still load things like a ladder (if you use your truck for a truck).

I second this. I have one and it is great. I have the big one though.

 

Since my spare is on a swing out and I have all the space where the stock spare was I'm thinking about cutting through the bed and putting something like a 30x20x12 locking compartment in there.
Something to consider for people with swing outs.

 

I keep 2 of these for packing clothing and other necessary items when vacationing or camping.



Also 1 of these for recovery gear and emergency equipment. Both fit neatly below my Bakflip.
