    Hi all,
I am looking for recommendations on how to replace my 2012 Tacoma bed. I damaged it pretty badly and I don’t want to make an insurance claim because my wife was in a wreck not too long ago. How much would it generally cost to have someone do it? And what are my options to cut costs (like buying the bed myself second hand)? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. We're really going to need photos to give you an answer. The bed is composite plastic with the steel quarter panels bolted on. The entire assembly is held onto the frame with 4 bolts in the bed plus miscellaneous fasteners/clips holding parts on like the filler neck. Depending on the damage, you may have to look at the frame as well. Without photos, it's impossible to give any firm advice.

Sorry here are photos. The reason I was thinking the bed needs to be replaced is that the side panel is also bent.

That entire side panel bolts on as does the bumper as well. You should be able to find it in a salvage yard. Salvage yards are linked together with a hot line and wherever you go they'll probably just announce it on that to find the parts. You can specify color of you want to.

The bed is held to the frame with 6 bolts that use a T55 torx head bit. The fuel filler neck is not attached to the bed side in any way.

There's two large wrecking yard database search engines that I've used: car-part.com and hollanderparts.com

If you get lucky, you might even find a bed side in the same color as your locally.
