The problem with cargo boxes is that they can't clamp to larger 1.5" x 3" crossbars that you normally see with truck beds, like these: https://www.kbvoodoo.com/toyota-tacoma-years-2016-to-present

But, we are introducing a new product that all Thule and Yakima products can clamp to, it will be out in a couple weeks.

You will see them here: https://www.kbvoodoo.com/

Will the new product be utilizing smaller cross bars and be available in a low rise version? I would definitely be interested in something like that and is there an ETA on availability?

I looked at using DRT Fab bed bars or C4 Lo-pro bed bars for this exact situation. Also the Thule Pulse M fits perfectly over a short bed.

Could you use KB's Lo-Rise crossbars for cargo boxes? Thule offers a this, https://www.thule.com/en-us/cargo-carrier/cargo-accessories/thule-t-track-adapter-697-6-_-697604 for the Pulse M.

Yes sir, they use smaller crossbars so Thule and Yakima gear can clamp to them.

Our normal Hi Rise Crossbars are 6" tall, but the Bike & Ski version is only 4" tall, and still compatible with tonneau covers.

They are on our site now: https://www.kbvoodoo.com/prox-bike-and-ski/proxbikeandski-tacoma-crossbars-2016-and-up

We are taking pre-orders now, they start shipping in under two weeks.

I called Thule this morning and they confirmed that their cargo carriers cannot clamp to a 1.5" x 3" crossbar.

At this point your best option is our Bike & Ski bars. They can be used with or without a tonneau cover.

If we see enough demand, we will make a Bike & Ski version of the Lo Rise bars, but we have to wait and see.
