I’m new to the forum and plan on getting a bed rack for extra storage soon, but I frequently haul my buddies dirt bikes and plan on getting my own soon. I know the Tacoma has a very shallow bed which is why I’m asking. Does anyone know if I can run a bed rack still and fit a 250cc in the back?

Welcome to TW. I have a bedrack over a softopper and I can tell you that there's no easy way that you can haul a dirtbike with a bedrack or camper shell. Not sure how you can ride a dirt bike up a ramp and have the height clearance with any mounted rack or shell. The softopper would work since you can fold it forward to have access to the bed.

You might consider a receiver hitch carrier. They make carriers for two bikes also.

Do any manufacturers make bed racks with removable crossbars? Could be an option for you.

Some Lumber racks have a removable rear bar, might be tall enough too just have a whole weld accessory bars/mounts to the sides?:notsure:

20200511_175602.jpg This is a home built rack. The design would work well for what you want. The cross bars mount into unistrut so are moveable/removeable. Once removed the rack does not extend into the bed past the wheel wells. Just have to find someone to fabricate something for you. Might even be cheaper than the other options.

I had my wisdom teeth removed right after posting this so I completely forgot I even made the post. I’ll be going with the leitner acs. Thank you guys for all of the interesting suggestions that I would’ve never thought of otherwise.
