I am looking for a bed rack that is tonneau cover compatible. I like having my stuff stored in the bed under cover (semi-secured) I have a tyger roll up tonneau with 2 solid crossbars, and I currently have the KBvoodoo High Rise Bed bar system for my RTT (ARB Simpson III) see below picture. I WANT A TALLER RACK, something that will allow some visibility out the rear window, but not put my RTT into orbit... some stick above the cab wiould be ok by me.. this is my DD, and my daily work commute is only 8 miles one way. if I can get it up higher, I plan to rotate the tent to have the tent unfold toward the rear. I do like that with the KBvoodoo high rise I can roll up my tanneau cover (mostly, it hits once you get the the front bar due to the solid crossbars in the tonneau cover design.

I have been looking for a tonneau compatible rack, and so far I have only seen the Max modular rack, which in all honestly doesnt look all that durable with only 1 sheer bolt holding the tonneau bracket to the rack frame at each point.

    VICTORY 4X$ shows this one..

however it looks to be a custom cover? or a narrow/modified version? I do like that Victory has a modular mid rack for items that can be in the elements, and still allows some rearview mirror/window halfrack 12" version would be great getting my RTT a bit taller. giving me some view out the rear window, and gain some height so that the RTT annex could be used, and possibly put on a slumberjack out the back for cover in the rain (cooking meals off the tailgate)... any others out there? I have looked but compatibilty with certain tonneau covers seems to be an issue.

I did do a search, and only saw reference to the KBvoodoo max modular lineup and their brackets that dont look like my tonneau will roll past...

dissent offroad rack could work with some mods to the tonneau cover where the uprights are... however the full + height may be a deal breaker for me.. didnt see a shorter 12-14" version..

    any others known out there?

I just got a “new to me” KBVoodoo mid height bed rack and a Truxedo X15 roll up cover. As with the OP, i had a bed bars before with a hard cover but this made my life a lot easier with the tent over it. As you can see, i can roll up the cover 80% and have almost full access to my bed without crawling under the cover as with my previous setup. Hope that helps with your decision.

you asked for other racks that work with covers, nothing about prices.

I'm not sure what you mean by semi-secured. Retrax cover looks more secure than the roll up one from victory or the kbvoodoo posted here. uptop is 200 more than victory, and requires no modifications. just a bit lower than an aluminum voodoo. you can go with a yakima outpost or something that works with a retrax too. the guy i got my rack from spent around 3k on this setup.

I have an 18" voodoo and a factory tri fold cover. cant open the cover with the rack mounted. been leaning towards uptop cuz it looks cool. yea its expensive, but so are all the other options out there

I just mean I want stuff out of view.. sure the Rtt and rack are kind of advertising it loud and clear.. but out of sight out of mind.. I like the retrax, just the cost is a bit much to swallow.

Did you ever hear back from them? I really like the pace edwards switchblade but I also want either a Victory 4x4 or RCI rack.

Sorry I have to wake this thread up... I was looking at soft toppers with bed racks for a few days, and after mulling it over, I think I would rather have a bed rack with tonneau cover as I will be putting RTT anyway.

So any update or new info would be very beneficial...

the new kb voodoo VSS? looks pretty nifty.

uptop overland makes one that works with a retrax also.

i was tempted with both but went shell instead
