Hey guys I’m new to all the overlanding but I am trying to learn. I just bought a bed rack it’s a EAG Bed Rack just want to know about mounts. Which ones would work or do I drill into the rack to get it set on? Anything helps

Look at quick fists for an easy option

If I were to just have one I'd take a saw over an axe.

Both is still the best option.

Hell with an axe bring something that does the work for you. I call mine the unlimited firewood mod.

I do also bring an axe and a hatchet.
If I was starting out I’d bring a folding hand saw and a good hatchet. Pounding in tent stakes with an axe is harder than you would imagine.

A bow saw and a smaller axe or even a folding saw for limbing will do you much better and faster on a trail than a bigger axe.

Bow saws are a hell of a lot safer and faster, especially for trying to section a fallen tree, and don't need as much space to operate. They just don't look as cool strapped to the side of your rig. :)

    Quick fists.

I bring an axe and a hatchet but I don't mount them since I hand restored them and don't want to leave them in the elements if I don't have to. Nothing like getting away from it all and letting stress melt away by striking wood with an axe. Saws have their place too, but I tend to stick with the axe. It's simple and can take tons of abuse.

As other said, quick fists will mount to damn near anything. I bought the smittybilt shovel and axe mount since it’s lockable. I don’t know what the mounting points on your rack look like so I couldn’t tell ya if there’s any drilling :notsure:

I like this mounting a pot more than quickfists. In the north Maine woods it’s a lot of really tight trails and limbs snag on EVERYTHING! I’ve never really trusted the rubber mounts for gear that will be continually bumped around.

I got the Relentless off road rack that mounts to the bed rails.

the silky katana looks like a pretty sweet compact hand saw.

A lot of them are just brackets you can find at home depot or lowes. You can buy a smallish metal rectangle and drill into it where desired for example.

i got these from home depot and this is my setup.

first is the bracket from home depot:
    834951C8-B5FD-4BDD-933D-FF2093959207.jpg D4F5A6ED-4B31-42FC-8A72-4EEA1E7D0359.jpg

Now i am using bolts and washers from HD
Bolt is part# AME Washer is #ADB
    E893694F-3224-4120-A6F0-93E167895F40.jpg FDC06BAD-1082-4096-BEB1-934616FBA541.jpg

Now you have this after sliding it on your bed rail:
    EE59826C-610E-43C0-8B7F-54CB1CEEE91A.jpg

From here you just use another washer and matching nut to secure it…

Then you just use the quickfist. I mounted it to the bottom hole and used a bigger washer to hold it in place:
The smaller ones prevent it from sliding since the bolt in the quickfist is small. Here are the rest of the pictures:

    Sorry missed your post,

@Zac of all trades made my mounts.

To mount them, I used short carriage bolts. Simply modified them a bit with my grinder and the vise,
