I have been looking around online but I haven't really found what I'm looking for. Hopefully you guys have some ideas! What I want to do is mount 2 of the 20L military style jerry cans in the box of my Tacoma. I want them to fit under my tonneau cover, and I want them to be easily removable for when I need to put a snowmobile or something in the box. A mount that could be attached to the bed rails would be ideal.

So far my best idea is a mount something like this http://www.dolium.com.au/view?command=cman_view_webpage&action=view&webpage_id=57&pkey=dolium , but I would like to get one that I could let sit on the bed and attach to the bed rails to prevent it from sliding around rather than bolting it to the bed from the bottom. Has anyone done something like this?

    Thanks!

    A little a this, a little a that...
I think I'm going to drill two holes in the cab side of the bed and insert eye bolts the width of two jerry cans. One ratchet strap across the middle should hold the cans securely. Then all you have is two eye bolts when not in use. This is my working theory.

I like this idea, and so does my wallet! Unless I see something else soon I'll probably go ahead with it next time we get a sunny weekend.

I've been looking for someting as well. One can will fit in front of or behind the wheelwell but I don't want to spend that amount on a manufactured holder.

It may be longer than originally stated. My parts got sent to an address that does not exist. Apparently when typing my shipping address the computer decided to change my address in the Autofill. The online tracking says out for delivery but the address is non existent. I guess I gotta call the post office.

Pretty sturdy. I'm going on a 200+ mile road trip tomorrow I'll post how it does.

There is no sheet metal in the 2nd gen beds. But I believe there is threaded metal for those bolts. I could be wrong I'll have to check
