ok a bit winded but here goes,
coming to Toyota from Ram, with Ram you can upgrade OEM features on base trucks and most of the time its plug n play sometimes you have to turn on the feature with an OBD plug and a program so l am wondering if this is achievable with Toyota as l would like to buy the LED bed lights factory switch and third brake light?

If its a double cab the cargo switch and relay will be there already. I believe that the Access cabs may not have all the parts there but with either the wires to plug in the actual lights are behind the tail lights clipped up in there. You just plug that part in. That's all I hard to do to add them to my double cab sr5. With the access cab you might need a relay and switch if it's not there already.

Toyota accessories can be added, or you can go to the aftermarket..
I put a BajaDesigns Dome in on the side; It has it's own switch on the light.

I had to buy the switch (which costs as much as the bed light kit itself). The wiring is there, behind the dash panel. All you do is plug it in.

Remote start w/ vehicle control and locator, Prinsu rack w/ Cali Raised Light Bar and 360 LED lights, LED Bedlights, Tailgate lock, 3" Lift, Wheels and Tires, Raptor Lights, LED headlights and fog lights, Blacked out LED taillights, Front windshield eyebrow tint, Rough country bed molle, 8-gang switch to control LEDS, Dominator D6 running boards/side steps, Blacked out sequential mirror turn signals
LED strips under the bed rails work great for me. Can see all the way to the front of the bed and dont have to worry about things blocking the lights by the tailgate. Makes it a lot easier to see the entire bed at night with the tonneau cover down. Put a switch on the driver side that is now hidden by my molle panels but still easily accessible.

I bought one of these battery powered LED lights and stuck it on the inside of the bed with some industrial strength velcro. Works great and only $5 bucks!

Besides, the bed is too small to be entertaining with disco rave lights.

You can not change The third brake light on a access cab to a cargo light as they are not compatible.

@mattgecko sells a great underrail bed light kit that you should really consider.

I have looked at that and I would have gotten that if my truck wasn't pre wired for the bed llights from Toyota that I vwas able to get for like $60 and install in 20 minutes.
I think that his kit would light the bed more evenly but the OEM parts do a plenty good enough job to see to get things at night and/or under your tonneau cover.

None of them are "factory installed." They're port installed, dealer installed, or owner installed. Naturally the dealer wants them on the truck when it's delivered to you, because (like all accessories) they're a high-markup item.

This is a relatively straightforward project. You can install any variety of leds and switches etc. There are plethora live and live timed circuits to tap. Wiring is accessible. So this is a great first timers project. Search around a bit and then just go for it with after market parts.

Just installed these on my 2021 double cab SR5. Real easy, these are Amazon nock offs for $45.00 delivered working real good after several weeks and several down pours. B54A7A7F-88D9-4167-8400-DD8F636764E2.jpg3D6FC72E-54E9-4268-A407-B27C86CD858F.jpg
