Just got it. I got ideas; suggestions welcome.
I'm still new to this (the 1st Gen Tacoma and this cool forum) so please forgive if I've duplicated some work...
When I had the Subaru Baja, there was a very useful image of the bed with dimensions labeled. So I decided to duplicate that idea for my newest toy.
Attached please find an image of the truck bed (Extended Cab, 6' bed) with dimensions in inches, rounded to nearest 1/4".
Red dimensions are from front to back: dimensions on the left are fore and aft of the wheel well.
Blue Dimensions are vertical: 7" from top of wheel well to the top of the lip, 14" from the bottom of the bed to the underside of the lip. 15.75" to the top of the lip.
Green dimensions are side to side: 57" between inside lip edges, 40.75" between wheel wells, 59.5" between the sides of the bed, and 52.75 between the two inner rails that border the tailgate.

I've printed it, and will keep a copy in my glove compartment for easy reference when loading large & unwieldy stuff in the back.

If there's anything missing, please point it out and I'll supplement and repost. Thanks.

could you confirm what the width of the rail is along the back (near the cab) is?
my bed rails on side are ~1.5" wide (with line-x)

also, could you confirm with the tail gate closed, from front to back at the top of rails is 76"...

    thanks!
