Bed cover that can be installed with the Leitner Design Forged bedrack?

I'm curious if there is a bed cover that can be installed with the Leitner Design Forged bedrack?
It seems like the mounting points for the Leitner Designs bedrack would interfere with most bed covers. Thanks for your suggestions and advice.

 

First of all, love that bed rack. I think that one and the also excellent one from BAMF are the only two that I have seen that bolt to the bed floor instead of the sides. Expensive, yes. But looks to be a real quality product. Really like the company, too.

Two quick things:

1) You may want to reach out to them. I heard they were working on a design that will allow a bed cover. That was a bit ago and they may or may not but worth checking into. I tabled the bed rack for a bit because I am so busy and am only slowly working through my list of mods. Now that I have finished recovery, I am moving on to roof rack next. Bed rack will definitely be a Leitner.

2) I looked into getting one of those roll up bed liners that attach via velcro. Not theft proof, of course, but the idea I had was to cut the roll up cover around where the Leitner is so I could essentially roll up around it. I think it could work and might be worth looking into.

Update:
I spoke with Leitner Designs and they indicated that we will see a new product announcement in early April for a bed cover that couples with the Leitner forged bed rack.

It will basically be a Power Retrax Pro since the manual lacks the room to be compatible with the Leitner rack. Downside is that his price estimate from the power bed cover is $2400.

The Leitner rep confirmed that he knows of no other bed cover that is compatible with the Leitner rack.

I'll take a look at modifying a simple low end soft cover as you suggest or may await the expensive power option.

 

Any luck finding a cover to work with leitner racks?

 

I was debating on using the tie down rings and modifying an old soft tonneau cover with eyelets. My biggest need for the cover is to keep gear out of sight when in public. I would like to know if anyone has tried this.

 

After our trip this summer I am looking at this issue as well. Right now I am thinking of using the upper Track Lock channel to build something similar to bunk bed supports that can “accordion” into the channel and cover the bed? Not sure on specifics yet (we aren’t even home ) but will post up what I rig up!

Leitner officially released their new Leitner ACS Forged Tonneau Rack earlier this week! It has been designed to work exclusively for the 2016-2021 Toyota Tacoma with a T-Slot style tonneau covers.
